What the job involves

As an early engineer at Caplight, you'll have an opportunity to make a huge impact and have a large amount of ownership over what you build. We are working on a client-facing order-matching platform in React as well as infrastructure in Node + Python supporting the operations of the platform.
You'll gain experience building full-stack software from scratch and also get to invaluable insight into building a technology company.
Most of our team is remote, traveling to in-person sessions several times a year

Our take

The pace of funding and dealmaking is getting increasingly faster, which can make things difficult for investors. Caplight solves this problem by enabling investors to trade derivatives of private equity.

Caplight's founders have a wealth of experience in investment banking, and the company has benefited greatly from their expertise and real-world investing knowledge. The firm has already accrued well over $400 million in interest from over 30 institutions, including hedge funds, VC funds and insurance firms. This is testament to the value of its platform's solutions.

Caplight's recent $1.7 million funding is further proof of its staying power. However, the company does face stiff competition from the likes of Forge and Apeira Capital. It will need to maintain and scale its customer base in order to remain competitive.
