Role
Who you are
- A U.S. law degree and 2-4 years U.S. corporate or commercial contract experience
- Experience in, or a willingness or desire to learn about, the insurance regulatory landscape in the U.S
- Experience working with fast-moving startups and high growth companies
- The ability to manage competing customer and internal deadlines
- The ability to adapt to an ever-changing work environment, including to the scope of your work: at a growing startup, you will touch on all aspects of the business, from sales and marketing to product and implementation
- A desire to work in a challenging industry (insurance is hard!) but have while fun learning and executing
- A desire to define our company culture! As an early startup employee, you will be critical in creating an inclusive, doors-open, remote-first culture
What the job involves
- Design, draft, and launch customer programs, including drafting contract language, while working closely with the rest of Tint’s Legal and Insurance teams
- Work on existing customer materials and contracts, such as B2B2C agreements, FAQ copy,
- Attend and lead customer meetings, especially those focused on legal or insurance contracts and regulatory issues
- Work on internal corporate and compliance legal matters, such as customer contracts, Board and governance matters, equity grants, NDAs, MSAs, and vendor agreements, as well as insurance compliance issues and audits
- Research corporate and insurance regulations and risks on behalf of Tint our customers, and coordinate with outside counsel as needed
- Assist in the creation of critical legal frameworks for Tint’s corporate, insurance, sales, marketing, product, and HR teams
- Work on defining product requirements and scaling legal and regulatory processes that are implemented into Tint’s solutions
- Advise Tint business units on risk mitigation strategies and help to identify and measure risks associated with Tint’s programs and product offerings
- Establish the Legal team’s culture both internally at Tint and externally with our customers, vendors, and regulators
- Build a world-class in-house legal team that manages and controls all of Tint’s corporate and regulatory legal risk
- Become an insurtech/fintech industry thought-leader by managing a team of in-house lawyers, compliance, and government relations specialists

Many tech platforms are moving to replace traditional insurers by creating their own protection plans that remove the risks users face. However, it is incredibly difficult for tech platforms to achieve their full potential of product protection if they don't have insurance as their core business.

With capital gained through funding rounds, the company plans to expand its remote-first team, with a focus on growing its product, engineering, and sales team. With more resources under its belt, Tint is continuing to empower tech platforms to enhance their user protection plans.
