Who you are

Experience with concept development, feasibility studies, and hands-on prototyping
Proficiency with 3D modeling (eg. Solidworks, NX, Creo, etc.). Bonus points for simulation experience
Familiarity with high volume manufacturing processes, DFM, DFA, tolerance analysis, functional dimensioning and GD&T
Familiarity with root cause analysis, DOE, and quality measuring techniques
BSME or equivalent. MS preferred
Willingness and ability to travel to Asia as needed

What the job involves

We’re looking for mechanical engineers to help develop products from concept through to production
You’ll be part of a small, mission-driven team and have significant ownership over decisions. We’re growing quickly so there are ample opportunities for career growth
Design, build & test complex electromechanical systems, including plastic, metal, and soft goods components integrating with novel sensors and actuators
Help drive designs across the entire development lifecycle, including brainstorming, CAD, prototyping, testing, and ramp into high-volume production in Asia
Collaborate with electrical engineering, industrial design, manufacturing, and product team members to develop products from early stage concepts to mass production
Perform various testing and analyses to ensure designs meet product goals, including thermal, fluid, and structural analyses

Eight Sleep makes “smart” mattresses and mattress covers (for regular mattresses) that use machine learning and other artificial intelligence-based algorithms to improve your sleep both by changing temperature and monitoring other physical parameters to provide an overall picture of your health.

The company is focused on two levers for growth. First, building out more technology through additional products and acquisitions, exemplified by the introduction of Span Health’s fitness-tracking app. Secondly, international expansion in Europe, where it has got off to an impressive start in the UK.
