- What is the scope of accountability for the role:
- Upkeep and growth of our product component library
- Responsible for the quality of new experiences from conception to scoping requirements, research, design, build and launch
- Responsible for user research, A/B testing and competitor analysis
- Extensive knowledge in UI, UX and user research
- Experience in working with tech and product in agile collaboration
- Creative problem-solving and ideating
- Ability to discuss and present ideas and visual direction
- Expert knowledge in Figma
- What are the desirable skills, qualifications and experience that would be beneficial for the role?
- Some graphic design knowledge is desirable but not necessary
- Working knowledge in the Adobe Creative Suite, namely Illustrator
- Experience designing web portals
- Crypto product design experience (ideally)
- FinTech industry knowledge (ideally)
What the job involves
- The Product Designer will maintain and evolve our product design system, guard and elevate our user experiences on our platform and eCommerce integrations, liaise with the technologists and product team to ensure the design vision is brought to life accurately, and take data-driven decisions based on thorough and extensive user research
- Maintain, evolve, and grow our component library to iteratively upgrade our UI design system
- Research, wireframe and design new user experiences for our payments & FX platform and crypto eCommerce integrations as well as new products
- Create Figma prototypes for new products or features, to communicate functionality to relevant stakeholders, as well as for sales and commercial use
- Work with product and tech domain teams and key stakeholders to develop and own the delivery of user-centred solutions within project timeframes and objectives
- Provide insights regarding the needs of end-users, based on information that is generated from, or validated with, research conducted on users
- Conduct qualitative and quantitative UX research methods, competitor analysis and A/B testing, drawing on the results to improve product functionality as well as problem-solve unexpected user behaviour
- Attend product stand-ups, and other agile ceremonies, to ensure in-depth understanding of the products we are building, as well as to unblock front-end developers and guide the project lifecycle with data-driven decision making
- Collaborate with brand design and marketing for go-to-market campaigns, as well as any other brand or marketing materials that require product visuals
- Be up to date on the latest industry trends and bring forward new findings and learnings
- Educate and inspire other employees in the company in understanding and appreciating great UI and UX, as well as the importance of user research

Orbital's comprehensive platform combines all the finance tools a business might need, thus bridging the gap between traditional and digital asset management.
Originally founded as a foreign exchange company called PayConstruct, Orbital transformed its foreign market over-the-counter securities programme into a crypto-commerce company trading in C2B payments, APIs, and more. Between 2017 and 2022, Orbital created three brands for asset management before combining them into one platform - Orbital.
Now working within crypto and traditional assets, Orbital is building its corporate client base. In August 2023, it gained VC from Golden Record Ventures and Newform Capital, among others. The company is using its fresh injection of capital to keep up its growth and secure new licenses in new markets.
