Who you are

At least 5+ years of professional experience programming in modern frontend frameworks
At least 5+ years of experience with React and Redux, modern Javascript, HTML5 and CSS
Familiarity with backend languages like Python, Rust, or C++
Understanding of how to build high-performance TypeScript applications capable of visualizing large amounts of data
Passion for software development, strong work ethic, and drive to continually learn and improve

What the job involves

As a Software Engineer with focus on Full Stack GUI development on the Trading Tools team, you’ll be responsible for developing and maintaining critical GUIs and applications for the trading community
One of the first projects you will have the opportunity to work on is within our Jump Crypto team, on a project called Firedancer
In this role, you will work with internal users to build performant, informative, and user-friendly GUI applications
These applications will be the eyes of the trading community—monitoring trading activities in real-time with data-dense displays—and its hands—controlling our complex automated systems

Our take

In recent years, cryptocurrencies have exploded in popularity, and Jump Crypto is one of the companies looking to take advantage of that fact. Its aim is to bring efficiencies to the crypto market, going beyond just trading to pursue an investors-as-builders strategy. (Half of its developer team actually ship code for protocols like Solana.)

The company has experimented with a variety of ways of deploying capital in the ecosystem, as part of its goal of staying ahead of developments in the market. Unfortunately, it has also been the centre of quite a bit of controversy.

This includes associations with Do Kwon's Terra/Luna project (that led to criminal charges again Kwon), and a suit from Fracture Labs for allegedly orchestrating a pump-and-dump scheme. We've yet to see how the company will fare under the weight of these controversies, but the departure of the firm's President certainly spells some changes on Jump's horizon either way.
