Role
Who you are
- At least 3 years of experience in a similar growth-focused role with demonstrable experience working with Tech and Product user-focused companies
- Demonstrated success in forming, implementing, and managing growth strategies in a dynamic environment
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to derive actionable insights from data. Advanced SQL, and Excel proficiency are required
- You are comfortable with ambiguity and thrive in fast-changing conditions. You are used to working within cross-functional and diverse teams in a digital, fluid environment
- You’re a strategic, analytical thinker, and you can easily design, analyze and optimize operational processes in an agile and smart way
- Team player with strong peer-influence skills able to be a credible voice towards all areas of the business
- Familiarity with the University landscape in the US would be a plus
What the job involves
- The role of the Growth Operations Manager will be to execute on one of Studocu’s highest priorities for 2024: develop and implement the playbook to move Universities through the ‘Growth Stage’ of the business model faster
- To start this role will develop and implement the playbook in the US, and over time will expand this to other markets
- Growth Strategy: Develop and execute comprehensive growth strategies to transition our US Universities to the next stage of the business model
- Data Analysis: Conduct deep data analyses to identify the opportunities for growth in the target Universities across all sides of the marketplace
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product, marketing, and operations teams to implement growth initiatives to achieve objectives
- Testing and Scaling: Identify growth opportunities and hacks to test and scale based on success
- Business Governance: Report on the performance of your growth strategy to key stakeholders across the business
Our take
High quality notes and resources are necessary at every level of education, but at times personal notes can be incomplete or missing details. The founders of Studocu have created a platform that allows students to share notes, resources and study materials, that now holds materials from universities across the world.
With millions of users every month accessing the platform, there is undeniable demand for Studocu's services. Much of the company's popularity may be ascribed to its freemium model, which keeps 85% of its content free to access. The other 15% can be accessed by students who either upload their own study materials or pay a fee.
Studocu has seen impressive investment which has enabled it to expand substantially. It also acquired Studybees, its German counterpart, to support this expansion. In 2024, Erasmus University Rotterdam filed a lawsuit against the company which will be interesting to follow, as it surrounds whether Studocu should have to proactively screen materials for copyright breaches, rather than its current report/takedown approach.
