Product Designer, Extend

• 3+ years of relevant digital design experience
• UX and UI experience (it’s okay if you have strength in one or the other. We can work together to find the right balance)
• A portfolio showcasing exceptional product design skills, or exceptional UI and UX thinking
• Precision in design (we should be able to focus on overall concepts and flows, not whether text is aligned properly)
• Adaptability, both to varying design challenges as well as to the needs of your team
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, and aptitude to explain design decisions
• Ability to empathize with our different users and approach design problems from their perspective
• Curiosity in spades, and the proactiveness to act upon that curiosity
• Willingness to grasp the engineering side of things (you won’t need to code anything, ever, but over time you will need to understand how the system works in order to design for it)

Desirable

• Full-stack designing of new product features and enhancements, from initial problem definition, research and discovery, wireframing and flows, all the way through handing off polished UI designs and write-ups to developers
• Working within and adding to our existing design system (Intaglio)
• Participating in design critiques, both as a critiquer and presenter
• Interpreting analytics and user testing data to guide design decisions
• Championing design as a key differentiator of the Extend product
• Supporting the rest of the Extend team as it pertains to the product design (ex: Marketing needs an example of a virtual card detail screen, so you might need to point them in the right direction)
• As a product designer at Extend, you'll get a chance to work on every aspect of our product across web, iOS, and Android platforms
