Role
Who you are
- 2 years of technical solutions engineering experience
- Strong understanding of programming and debugging, as well as REST APIs and Webhooks (Python or Javascript preferred)
- An understanding of the eCommerce industry and strong technical sales background preferred
- Great oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills and the ability to communicate to both technical and non-technical audiences
- Ability to travel 10% of the time
What the job involves
- Recharge is looking for a motivated Solutions Engineer to execute on our growth strategy and provide support to our account management team
- You will be the foundational link and lead tech resource for the largest merchants leveraging the Recharge platform
- While you could find yourself involved in many different projects, your main responsibilities will include leading technical discussions, performing technical demos, consulting on best implementation practices, and providing merchant support via email and slack
- With this role, you must share our passion for subscription commerce, thrive in a dynamic environment, and have the flexibility and willingness to jump in and get things done
- You are equally comfortable in a business setting interacting with executives, as well as in a technical context talking about the ins and outs of the Recharge product
- You will also be getting in on the ground floor as an early team member on a high-growth solutions organization
- You will be critical in providing feedback on tools, processes, and training to shape our team and culture over time

- Act as a Recharge technical leader and trusted advisor to our account management team
- Prepare for and lead technical discussions with teams ranging from executive-level business stakeholders to software engineers
- Consult and provide technical insight to merchants on best go-to-market strategies
- Immerse yourself in the ever-evolving eCommerce industry and continually evaluate how to position Recharge during the sales cycle
- Participate in industry trade shows, conferences, and third party sponsorships on behalf of Recharge
Our take
Ecommerce platform Recharge has been in operation since 2014, helping brands set up and manage a subscription business, removing the operational inefficiencies that brands would face when attempting to manage this themselves. Its cloud-based subscription management platform aims to offer merchants flexibility by leading with an API focus.
Recharge’s basic premise has proven a smart one, with the eCommerce subscription market growing substantially since the company was founded. It of course rose particularly steeply over the pandemic, with the closure of brick-and-mortar stores, but in general still follows a market trend towards direct-to-consumer relationships - promising a growing market for Recharge going forwards.
Success for the company has been clear, with its merchant roster boasting several thousand users including Harry’s, Oatly, and BrewDog. The sector has attracted substantial funding, with Recharge completing a remarkable funding round in 2021. This came atop its already stable, cash-flow-positive business, and supported its further progress as the subscription industry developed. The company is focused on maintaining its strong position, with new updates and improvements to its offering including Retain, a suite of tools designed to support retention throughout the subscriber lifecycle.
