Who you are

Have a relevant graduate tertiary qualification with at least three years previous experience in a HR generalist advisory position working across all HR functions
Previous experience in preparing and processing payroll, preferably on Xero
Knowledge of UK employment laws and regulations
Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
Systems and processes hero who picks up new tech quickly
Personable with amazing communication and relationship building skills
Demonstrate discretion and the ability to maintain confidentiality
Willing to roll your sleeves up, resilient, positive, self motivated, love a challenge, open to feedback, passionate about learning

What the job involves

We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Advisor with a strong business partnering focus to join our HR team. If you are dedicated, detail-oriented, and ready to make a meaningful impact, we want you to be part of our dynamic team
Provide leaders with professional and practical advice so they can best support and grow their teams
Advising leaders and employees on HR policy and procedure updates and employment legislation to promote a positive and compliant work environment
Mediate and resolve employee relations in a fair and constructive manner
Document generation (letters, contracts, etc.)
Employee file and record maintenance on our HR System (Bamboo)
People inbox and UK payroll inbox management
Assist with HR policy development and implementation
Identify and initiate continuous improvement opportunities
Manage the UK visa licence and issue sponsorships
Implement effective talent acquisition strategies, including sourcing, interviewing and onboarding new team members
Assisting with interviews set up, candidate background checks, right to work and immigration, ensuring a great candidate experience throughout
Support with employer branding initiatives
Responsible for preparing and processing the UK payroll
Handle UK payroll inquiries and resolve discrepancies
Benefit management
UK leave management
Ad hoc finance support when required
Organise social events and celebrations, fostering a positive and engaging workplace culture
Support and put forward wellbeing and cultural initiatives
Act as a health and safety representative on the Health & Safety committee
Promote and ensure compliance with health and safety policies and procedures
Champion internal communications
Be the main contact point for UK office related queries
Assist the NZ-based tech team with UK related equipment queries
Support as required on various projects

A large number of fashion brands and retailers now offer the Buy Now, Pay Later (BNPL) payment method both online as well as for in-store purchases. Laybuy is the latest foreign entrant in this growing UK market, having already become well established in New Zealand.

Laybuy sets itself apart with its virtual buy-now-pay-later card. This means that the service is no longer limited to online shopping, but can also be used on the Highstreet through Apple Pay or Google Pay.

Other buy now, pay later firms include Klarna and Clearpay. Unlike these rivals, Laybuy offer customers the chance to make repayments on a weekly basis, rather than monthly. They have already strongly performed in the UK market over the past year.

The company heavily invested in its marketing strategy to push its UK expansion. Laybuy now works with over 5,000 merchants in the UK including ASOS, Nike and Amazon.
