Role
Who you are
- To succeed in this role, you should have a passion for iterative product development, and possess an analytical mindset
- You should be comfortable navigating the uncertainties of a startup environment, be flexible to shifting priorities, and be driven to revolutionize the $400B trucking industry
- You must be up to the challenge to realize TruckSmarter's vision of becoming a one-stop-shop for owner-operator finances
- Some technologies we use today: Typescript, React, React-Native, Postgres, GPT-4, AWS CDK. There's no need to be a prior expert in our stack; it's more important that you learn new technologies quickly
- Minimum one (1) year of industry experience
- Drivers, not passengers
- Experience working in a fast-paced, startup environment
- At least a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) in a relevant field

What the job involves
- Join the TruckSmarter Fintech team and embark on a journey to build our financial product suite from 0 → 1
- You will work closely with our operations team to explore the nuances and challenges of logistics payments and translate these insights into product strategies to automate traditionally manual processes of the industry
- You will be instrumental in ensuring our growth is consistent and sustainable by streamlining customer acquisition, payments processing, and capital management for our ambitious AI-powered instant invoice factoring product
- Engaging deeply with the entire product lifecycle, transforming high-level concepts into tangible, production-ready solutions
- A collaborative startup where you have full autonomy over your work and can make direct impact on both users and the team
- Solving problems with pragmatic yet sophisticated solutions—you know how to strive for simplicity without compromising support for more complex use cases
- Playing a pivotal role in cultivating our team culture
- Work cross-functionally with the team to shape product strategy

Our take
The massive rise in eCommerce means that truck drivers are at an all-time demand, but the trucking industry massively lags behind many others in technological advancements. TruckSmarter delivers a free platform that allows truckers, carriers, and dispatchers to search and book loads, streamlining the entire trucking process.
The trucking industry has been historically fragmented, with truckers wasting countless hours searching for their next gig, followed by more time waiting to be loaded or unloaded – which can be very detrimental to truckers who are often paid per mile. Trucksmarter digital trucking platform addresses all these problems. It stands out from the competition – other companies which have sprung up to modernise trucking – by being a free to use service. It makes its revenue by offering truckers same-day payments for each load, in exchange for small percentage of their fee, rather than charging to use the load board itself.
TruckSmarter has raised an impressive amount of funding from top investors and names in the industry, showing the respect for and interest in its solution. The investment will be used to add more finance and banking tools to the company’s driver ecosystem.
