What the job involves
- As our Chief Marketing Officer, you will build a clear and inspirational marketing vision, acting as the strategic architect behind our global brand evolution in the cloud application space
- Leveraging deep expertise in marketing to technical audiences, you will play a pivotal role in identifying and championing strategic growth opportunities that strengthen our market leadership
- In this high-impact role you will lead the rebranding efforts, drive product positioning, and elevate our market virality through innovative, data-driven strategies that support product-led growth (PLG) motion, as well as partner and direct sales channels
- As a key member of the executive team, you will evangelize marketing as a function, fostering cross-collaboration with product, sales, and engineering to drive our long-term objectives
- This role demands a strategic marketing leader who expertly translates cloud product complexities into compelling narratives that resonate with both technical and business audiences
- By building omni-channel demand generation strategies, you will drive intentional, sustainable growth that positions us as an industry leader
- Reporting directly to the CEO, the CMO will have a significant influence on shaping the company’s long-term direction, driving both strategic marketing initiatives and day-to-day performance
- Develop and communicate a bold marketing vision

Our take
Platform.sh makes it easier for web developers to build websites and apps without having to worry about maintaining web infrastructure – something that’s become increasingly complex on the cloud. Using the platform, developers can deploy sophisticated, out of the box architectures and infrastructures.
There’s been a lot of activity in the lucrative Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) market over the last few years. Indeed, the market is growing at nearly 20% annually, with companies like Heroku and Vercel doing very well. However, with a large customer base that includes Orange, Adobe, Nestlé, and The Financial Times, Platform.sh is doing more than just holding its own.
After a major funding round in 2022, which was led by Morgan Stanley Expansion Capital, the company has continued to rapidly grow its globally distributed workforce, with a keen eye on expanding further in the US as well as Western Europe.
