Who you are

  • The ideal candidate is intellectually curious, proactive in seeking solutions to challenging problems, and highly focused on delighting our customers

  • You have a bachelor’s or advanced degree in math, economics, statistics, engineering, computer science, or other quantitative field
  • You have worked in an analytics or data science role for 3+ years professionally
  • You possess strong SQL skills and the ability to use tools such as Python, R, Excel and Tableau to work efficiently at scale
  • You balance attention to detail with swift execution, including the ability to deliver on tight timelines
  • You have a bias towards learning and constant iteration
  • You are self-motivated and have the ability to work independently
  • You have strong communication and organization skills

What the job involves

  • Klaviyo is looking for a Product Analyst to join our growing R&D team
  • Data is core to who we are as a company, and you will play a pivotal role in both collecting the necessary data and deriving insights through analysis
  • Our team works closely with product managers and engineers to best serve the needs of customers within specific product areas
  • The SMS & new channels initiative is focused on expanding Klaviyo’s marketing platform to provide customers with more opportunities to engage their audiences and accelerate growth
  • In this role, you will work closely with stakeholders across multiple teams
  • This is an exciting opportunity to work on omnichannel sending, a rapidly evolving area where best practices are still being developed
  • Own the analytics needs of one or more product areas, including metrics selection and tracking, exploratory research, experimentation, and instrumentation
  • Leverage appropriate statistical tools such as time-series analyses, hypothesis testing, and causal analyses to statistically assess relative impact and extract trends
  • Generate ideas to shape future analytical projects and initiatives
  • Develop dashboards and reports to regularly communicate results
  • Present findings exploratory research to senior management to drive business decisions
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams across disciplines such as product, engineering, design, success, and support
  • Advocate for data driven decision making and roadmap prioritization based on your understanding of what drives the biggest impact for both our customers and Klaviyo

From personalised newsletters to automated emails when customers abandon their shopping carts, the marketing automation platform makes it easy for businesses to capture, store, analyze, and predictively use their own data to drive measurable, high-value outcomes.

Klaviyo's CEO, Bialecki, believes that the main problem with e-mail marketing today is that there is a divide between two kinds of tools: analytics tools that help you understand what people are doing on a website, such as what products they are considering, and messaging tools that send them a marketing e-mail. Operating primarily within the retail and eCommerce industry, Klaviyo aims to solve this by offering a tool that brings together analytics and messaging. This allows companies to bring all of their first-party data into a single platform to get a deep understanding of their customers and then activate that data to deliver highly-targeted, personalised communications through email and SMS. In the process, Klaviyo's customers get a deep understanding of their consumers.

Klaviyo is a fast-growing company mainly due to its business model - the firm offers a concrete ROI for Klaviyo’s clients if the software persuades customers to make purchases by treating different types of customers differently. An IPO in 2023 has led to Klaviyo's release of Klaviyo AI, which empowers businesses to unlock revenue-driving opportunities and deliver exceptional customer experiences across channels. Still in its early days of public listing, it will be interesting to see how Klaviyo fares in the years to come.
