Who you are
- Advanced stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence key decision-makers
- Able to balance short-term tactical demands against long-term objectives, particularly the avoidance of creating technical debt

- Proven programming skills and ability to train others in Java. Combined with this, the experience of the common frameworks used within the programming languages ecosystem
- Significant experience with AWS and IaC and services such as Kinesis, S3, IAM, SQS, Lambda and S3
- Line management experience
- Able to work on own initiative, self-motivated, and time efficiently
- Able to communicate technical solutions/issues to technical and non-technical staff and stakeholders
- Experience with streaming technologies
- Kubernetes experience
- Kafka experience
- Experience with Apache Airflow and Apache Flink
What the job involves
- As an Engineering Team Lead within Internal Services Engineering, you will play a critical part in running some of the teams that are responsible for services across TAG
- This is a dynamic role that requires both technical leadership and visionary direction, and will champion the advancement and application of various key services that deliver value across the company
- By leading a skilled team of data and software engineers, you will unlock new possibilities in areas such as process automation, data ingestion, enrichment, log streaming, event data analysis and system-to-system integrations
- Engineering Team leads need to be full-stack developers who are happy to identify and learn new technologies/frameworks in order to drive business value
- Manage the day to the day activities of a high-functioning engineering team
- Liaise with key business stakeholders, identifying where additional value can be delivered incrementally over time within the owned subject area
- Take ambiguous needs from the business and turn these into technical tasks to be completed by the engineering team
- Be accountable for the successful daily execution of BAU Prod activity
- Work alongside other engineering team leads within the office of COO, contributing to the overall engineering and service strategy
- Prioritise tasks and communicate these to team members
- Mentor, coach, and inspire the engineering team resources within the wider organization
- Support the creation of internal SOW and track them through to completion
- Support the team by owning and managing escalations
- Assist with Sprint ceremonies and management of the engineering teams backlog
- Explore new technologies to identify new patterns and trends
- Ensure that best practice is followed by the team and pay back technical debt

Worked as a Senior Security Consultant for Barclaycard, and was Director of WTG. First joined Adaptavist as a Board Advisor, and was made CEO in 2010.

Reece joined TAG as an Associate Software Engineer in May 2019. Within 5 months, they advanced to Software Engineer, then to Senior in under two years, and by September 2024, became Staff Engineer.
Sarah joined TAG as a Project Manager in 2017 in the Toronto office. They found their true calling in Sales and made an internal move a couple of years later and have since advanced to become a Strategic Sales Executive.
Rodrigo initially worked with TAG as a Contractor before joining the UK team permanently as a Commercial Operations Analyst. Since then, they moved to the Madrid office as a Business Operations Manager.
