Role
Who you are
- Experience of creating and implementing Quality Engineering strategies and plans with an Automation First approach
- Cloud experience and a willingness to work towards Cloud accreditation (GCP, Azure or IBM/Kyndryl)
- Strong Quality Engineering, NFT, Performance Engineering skills
- Good knowledge of Test Data provisioning and management and co-ordinating test Environments
- Experience of programming languages including Groovy, Python, Bash, Powershell, JavaScript, Java, SQL/noSQL, and/or Unix Shell and a willingness to develop these and other skills
- Experience of implementing DevOps principles (CI/CD) and using tools including Jenkins, Git, SonarQube
- Experience with toolsets such as Selenium, Cucumber, Perfecto, UFT, Appiu, Saucelabs
- Strong skills on Jira, Confluence, Xray and ALM
- Experience of containerisation including Docker and Google Kubernetes
- Experience of Defect Management, Incident Management, Root Cause Analysis and/or Config Management would be advantageous
- ISTQB Foundation Certification and Advanced Certification (or willingness to work towards Advanced certification)
- Strong Organisational Awareness
- Experience of change methodologies including Scrum, Kanban, Waterfall
- Team Management skills
- Coaching and Mentoring skills
- Logical and creative thinking skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build working relationships
- Enthusiasm to learn and develop as a “hands on” Quality Engineer
- An ideal Quality Engineer will be technically literate, experienced in automated and manual testing processes, keen to learn, able to communicate well, with an interest in ensuring quality services are delivered for customers and colleagues
- A willingness to get stuck in and learn on the job is essential
What the job involves
- CIO Enabling Services provides Test Environment Services to deliver and continuously improve test environment engineering through innovation and automation, driving excellence in test environments and test data provisioning
- Supporting the whole of LBG with an expertise in Major Programmes, our team provides end to end testing environments using both physical and cloud-based solutions
- With an eye on virtualisation and self-service the team is developing a range of service offerings to help speed up provisioning of environments to support fast paced change
- Joining us as an experienced Quality Engineer, you'll use your technical skills to support the delivery of quality software solutions into production
- You’ll be continually challenged, motivated, mentored and supported to develop your skills and bring forward the best solutions to conduct effective testing
- You will work with other Quality Engineers to develop their skills and experience, providing support, mentoring and coaching to ensure the future of engineering within LBG is strong
