Who you are
- We require someone with a sharp eye for detail, advanced interface design abilities, and knowledge of user-centered design principles
- A strong portfolio showcasing your work in high fidelity
- 5+ years experience working in product design, ideally for a SaaS product company
- A keen eye for details and sweating the small stuff to create pixel-perfect interfaces
- The desire to design experiences that delight users and convert them into raving fans of Scribe
- Strong communication and presentation skills to convey design concepts and decisions

- You are comfortable writing or editing HTML and CSS
- Experience with shepherding your work through github pull requests and giving feedback on the code our engineers are writing for your designs
What the job involves
- Scribe is seeking a Senior Product Designer to join our team and broaden Scribe’s core product and user experience
- Design excellence is a core pillar of what Scribe means to our team and our users
- This role will mainly collaborate with our Product team, with additional opportunities to work with Marketing
- This role will report to the VP of Design
- Create detailed, pixel-perfect mockups and design new product features
- Extend and work within our design system, Stylus
- Interact with users to understand their needs, expectations, and goals
- Work closely with engineers to implement your designs and understand technical constraints
- Determine key milestones and provide updates and check-ins to relevant teams and partners
- Both receive and provide design feedback amongst the design team
Our take
Knowledge workers spend, by some reports, around one-fifth of their time simply working out how to do their job. Where historically this might have demanded lengthy, labour-intensive user guides and training manuals, Scribe has brought to market an efficient new alternative, where all users need to do is record their screen whilst carrying out a task.
From there, the company creates text descriptions and interactive screenshots for each step, which can be shared with a simple link. Scribe has accrued an impressive customer base since it launched in beta back in 2020, with over 600,000 companies, including Adobe, Facebook, Tesla, and EA using its product and 94% of Fortune 500 businesses. Demand looks likely to continue, with hybrid workforces still widespread post-pandemic.
Founder Jennifer Smith is versed in the inefficiencies of knowledge-sharing within companies from a stint at Mckinsey, and her co-founder Aaron Podolny was previously CTO at automated customer service and sales tools company, Onward. With strong funding secured, Scribe’s impressive success to date looks only set to continue as it scales its team and invests in R&D to propel the development of its platform.
