Who you are
- You are a results driven individual who is determined to deliver your targets and resilient in facing the inevitable rejection which comes with a Sales role
- You are a proactive go-getter who doesn’t sit passively waiting for things to happen, rather gets out there and makes them happen!
- With excellent communication skills you are a confident and articulate presenter. You communicate clearly in both written and spoken language and are confident communicating via phone and e-mail. You listen attentively and are experienced in building successful relationships at all levels from CEO to analyst
- You are persuasive and personable and find building relationships with your customers enjoyable
- You are comfortable taking ownership and accountability for your work whilst working effectively as part of a larger team
- You have excellent attention to detail and a meticulous eye for identifying inconsistencies or inaccuracies in data. You take your time to get things right first time
- You are able to organise yourself, including effective scheduling, prioritisation and time management skills, managing multiple tasks in parallel and completing tasks to tight deadlines. You understand the importance of keeping systems up to date, and are meticulous in ensuring you stay up to date with system entries
- You are ambitious to grow your career in Sales, and excited to lay foundation skills through a Sales Development Representative role
- You are both passionate and measured. You carefully balance the need for quick solutions and pragmatism with the ability to step back, take in the bigger picture and build for the long term

- You may have some previous experience as a Sales Development Rep, and are perhaps looking to develop those skills in a SaaS and/or Purpose driven environment
- Track record of exceeding lead targets and achieving sales quotas is preferred
- Hands-on experience with multiple sales prospecting techniques like cold calling, cold emailing and social outreach
- Previous experience as having worked as a Sales Development Representative would be an added advantage
- Proficiency in English is essential for effective communication with headquarters, while fluency in French and Spanish is required to engage successfully with the regional market

- The Winnow Business Development team consists of nearly 20 talented sales professionals spread across our commercial hubs in Singapore, Dubai, London and Chicago
- The team plays a crucial role within the organisation taking responsibility for driving revenue growth by identifying new opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and maximizing revenue through effective sales and marketing efforts. Ultimately, it’s the job of the BD team to establish and grow Winnow’s footprint in the marketplace, increasing the number of systems in the field which will lead to a reduction in food waste across the globe
- With ambitious growth plans a new opportunity has arisen for a Sales Development Representative to join our growing team
- In this role you will play a pivotal role in driving the growth of our product within EMEA by generating and qualifying leads for our sales team. Key responsibilities include:
- Lead generation: identify and research potential leads within target industries and market segments using various tools and resources
- Outbound prospecting: conduct outbound prospecting activities, including cold calling, email outreach, and email campaigns, to engage with decision-makers and influencers
- Lead qualification - qualify inbound leads based on predefined criteria to ensure alignment with our ideal customer profile and their potential to benefit from Winnow within their organisations
- Lead nurturing - build and maintain relationships with prospects through regular communication and follow-up to understand their needs and challenges
- Schedule sales meetings: schedule qualified leads for product demonstrations and introductory meetings with our sales team to move them through the sales pipeline
- Zendesk management - utilise Zendesk (our CRM system) to track and document all prospecting activities, customer interactions, and lead status updates
Salary benchmarks
Our take
Food waste costs the hospitality industry over 100bn annually. Kitchens can waste up to 20% of food purchased, often equivalent to their total net profits. This is because chefs too often lack the necessary tools to accurately measure and manage waste. What gets measured gets managed, and by using data intelligently, kitchens can be made more efficient. This is what Winnow has set out to achieve.
The company has developed technology to help chefs achieve greater visibility in their kitchens and make better decisions that lead to dramatically reduced food waste and costs. It does this via the Winnow Waste Monitor, a set of smart scales, and an accompanying tablet app that lets kitchen staff easily log what food is thrown away. That data is then uploaded to the cloud, analysed by Winnow’s algorithm, and disseminated so that food waste can be reduced
The company has IKEA, Compass Group, and AccorHotels as customers, and estimates its clients are saving 4,300 tonnes of food waste annually by using Winnow. As well as helping kitchens to be more environmentally friendly, it also saves them money (restaurants are an industry where margins tend to be thin). With the growing trend towards sustainability and cutting down food waste, Winnow should have a growing market to expand into.
