- Strong expertise in building production-grade backend systems with Python and/or Go
- Solid experience with distributed systems and event-driven architectures
- Proven track record with AWS services and cloud-native development
- Strong foundation in database technologies (MongoDB, PostgreSQL, Redis)
- Comfortable with ambiguity and capable of writing clean, maintainable code that solves real user problems
- Bias for action and ability to move fast while maintaining high-quality standards
- A strong communicator who can collaborate effectively across teams
- 5+ years of software engineering experience, with 2+ years as a senior backend engineer
- Strong background in API design and implementation
- Deep expertise with AWS services and cloud-native development
- Experience building and scaling distributed backend systems
- Experience with modern database technologies and data pipelines
- Exposure to CRM (Salesforce, etc.) systems or similar B2B products is highly preferred
- Experience with AI/ML systems integration is also preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field
- A proven track record of thriving in early-stage startup environments, showing resilience and flexibility in the face of uncertainty
What the job involves
- We're seeking a talented backend engineer to build and scale core systems powering our AI-first sales platform
- As a key individual contributor, you'll develop critical components of our seller co-pilot system, working at the intersection of backend services and AI infrastructure
- This is an exciting opportunity to own end-to-end development of systems that are transforming how B2B sales teams operate
- Build scalable, easy-to-maintain backend services that power our AI co-pilot features using Python/Go
- Implement elegant event-driven systems using AWS services for real-time AI processing
- Create robust data pipelines and APIs that handle complex sales workflow automation
- Design and implement efficient database schemas and data flows across MongoDB, PostgreSQL, and Redis
- Build monitoring and observability solutions for production systems
- Contribute to technical design discussions and architectural decisions
- Work closely with product and AI teams to ship impactful features and scale AI capabilities
- Use modern developer tools like Cursor and CoPilot to maximize engineering productivity

It's a simple but effective proposition. Sybill's AI can take deal notes, draft tone-correct follow-up emails and write process-aware CRM updates. Its model was built specifically for sales, making it a better option than more generic AI admin tools.
The company has raised significant funds, the latest of which will be used to further the development of its AI and build out its team. With upwards of 500 paying customers, the company has got off to a great start and is set up nicely for future growth.
