Who you are
- Proven experience in product management within a high-growth startup environment
- A user-centric approach to product development, with a proven ability to work closely with product designers to create intuitive, aesthetically pleasing products
- Extensive experience collaborating with engineering teams, encompassing frontend, backend, databases, devops, QA, and testing
- A deep sense of empathy for various stakeholder groups, including individuals with medical conditions and precision medicine researchers
- Direct experience conducting user testing, user interviews, and lean experiments
- Skills in creating wireframes to visually communicate product ideas
- A profound passion for digital products, coupled with a keen interest in the future of health, medical research, and genomics
What the job involves
- The Senior Product Manager at Sano is crucial in steering the development of our genetic test and result return process, playing a pivotal role in expediting large-scale genetic testing studies in the realm of precision medicine
- This role demands a visionary leader capable of harmonizing the needs of participants and research teams, ensuring a fluid, intuitive experience for all parties involved
- In this role, you will be at the helm of developing a crucial component of our platform, overseeing the entire genetic test and result return process
- Your responsibility extends to ensuring a seamless experience for participants, be it at-home or in-person, encompassing at-home sample collection, tele-genetic counseling, and the generation and return of results through user-friendly report templates
- You will collaborate closely with our in-house team and external partners, including laboratories and genetic counseling services, to refine and enhance our software, ensuring it stands up to the rigors of both research and clinical applications
- Your leadership will be instrumental in shaping the product roadmap, driving innovation, and ensuring an impeccable user experience from start to finish
- Spearhead the product development for launching clinical-grade genetic testing, broadening our offerings beyond research-use-only and catering to a more extensive range of clinical applications
- Lead rigorous user testing and gather feedback for the entire genetic testing process, pinpointing areas for enhancement to boost test completion rates and enrich the participant experience
- Innovate in genetic education and counseling, pioneering new methods and tools such as personalized genetic reports, interactive videos, quizzes, and leveraging AI/ML for scalable support and result delivery
- Developing the product roadmap for the genetics squad
- Overseeing the operational delivery of the product roadmap
- Engaging with current and potential customers to gather insights, inform the product roadmap, and better understand customer needs

Anyone can sign up for the platform for free and participants gain access to cutting-edge medical reports on conditions relevant to them receive personalised genetic reports, and have the option to participate in research studies and clinical trials. Sano offers participants full transparency and control over how their data is used.
The company's current focus is on neurological and immune conditions - Parkinson’s Disease, Multiple Sclerosis, and Long COVID, amongst others. Sano expanded its product to be a 'patient portal' for national-scale precision medicine initiatives, such as Genomics England, with the potential to impact millions of people. In 2024, its funding raise of $11.4 million is being channelled into scaling its product to meet demand globally and developing AI integrations.
