Role
Who you are
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or MST preferred
- 5+ years of tax experience, with exposure to both income tax, indirect tax and international tax
- Prior experience in public accounting and/or a corporate tax department
- Comfortable working independently in a lean, fast-paced environment
- Strong project management skills and ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Experience managing or coordinating with outside tax advisors is a plus
- Proficiency in tax software and ERP systems (e.g., NetSuite, Avalara)
What the job involves
- We are looking for a hands-on Senior Tax Analyst to join our tax department and take ownership of day-to-day tax operations across both income tax and indirect tax functions
- This is a high-visibility, high-impact role where you will work directly with the Senior Director of Tax, leadership and manage internal relationships across teams and with outside advisors
- The ideal candidate is someone who thrives in a lean environment, takes initiative, and can operate independently across a broad range of tax matters
- Income Tax:
- Prepare and/or review federal and state income tax returns, including coordinating with outside advisors
- Support the global quarterly and annual tax provision process and maintain tax basis schedules
- Monitor and research changes in tax law and assess impact on the company
- Manage tax notices, audits, and correspondence with federal and state authorities
- Indirect Tax:
- Oversee sales and use tax, telecommunications compliance across all jurisdictions, including filing or coordinating filings with advisors
- Manage exemption certificate tracking and renewal
- Support nexus reviews and registration in new states as the business grows
- Assist with any VAT, GST or cross-border tax matters as applicable
- General:
- Serve as the primary day-to-day contact for outside tax advisors and consultants, ensuring timely and accurate deliverables
- Maintain the tax compliance calendar and ensure all deadlines are met
- Support internal stakeholders (finance, legal, operations) with tax-related questions
- Identify and implement process improvements across the tax function
Our take
Call centres have been a mainstay of sales teams for decades, with the human touch delivering an impression conversion rate of about 30% for inbound calls. However analogue call centres are physical infrastructure-heavy and unable to take advantage of the flexibility afforded by remote and hybrid ways of work. Aircall has developed a significant customer base with these strengths, with over 20,000 companies using its platform.
