Role
Who you are
- The ideal candidate is a driven, strategic thinker with a proven track record in SaaS solution building; solution-oriented; a self-starter who is organized, collaborative and energetic
- Affinity with AI/ML domain
- Deep experience in building modern software stacks (Typescript, Next.js)
- Deep experience in building event driven cloud architecture (AWS)
- Experience in building a DevOps team
- 5+ years of professional software development experience, including hands-on software engineering/architecture experience for SaaS solutions
- UX/UI experience is nice to have
- Excellent English communication skills
- Stack overview: GitHub, Typescript, Nextjs, AWS, dynamoDB (noSQL database), Eventbridge, ApiGateway, SST, AWS CDK, Seed (CICD), Cognito, Kinesis
What the job involves
- Humans already cause 90% of cyberattacks today. And newly available AI tools lead to an explosion of sophisticated, highly tailored cyberattacks (e.g. fake video conference or phone calls)

- We're seeking a passionate and hands-on CTO to develop a new category of cyber education
- As the CTO, you will be working side by side with the founders
- Promoting engineering and software excellence
- Designing, implementing, and evaluating product prototypes
- Creating high quality code with a focus on readability, speed and scalability
- Hiring, leading and managing a team of engineers
- Building product quality assurance and data protection processes
- Building resilient and reliable systems
Our take
Predicting AI as the most significantly growing tech field of this century, Merantix aims to apply machine learning to sectors that can benefit most from it. After a robust, highly selective vetting process, Merantix identifies founders and collaborates to provide support and funding to scale their businesses. The company integrates all areas of AI, building a complete talent pipeline and fund for venture scaling. Successful examples include Vara, SiaSearch, and Cambrium.
Merantix differentiates itself from typical venture capital firms through its approach. While most VCs invest in established businesses, spreading funds across many companies and taking losses while focusing on winners, Merantix tries to pick winners at the earliest stage.
The launch of an AI Campus in 2021 significantly increased the company's ecosystem, allowing it to explore new fields. Through strategic partnerships with SoftBank and the AI City project in Dubai, Merantix is growing. It has incubated ten successful startups so far and aims to produce even more in the coming years. Merantix is raising a new €100 million fund to co-invest in startups, marking its largest fund yet. This fund will be allocated to co-investing in external startups, investing in incubated startups, and supporting existing investments.
