Senior / Lead Product Designer, Foresight Data Machines (FDM)

• You should be an expert in either UI, UX, or visual design, but skilled in more disciplines across product design. Ideally you've been a designer for 5+ years in a product-driven company.
• Since we're an early stage startup who are iterating quickly, you should be comfortable with a high turnover of design ideas.
• You want to spend your time designing in Figma (or similar), not only managing people.
• You value the benefits of working directly with customers in the field. You will have direct access to our customers and we expect you to interact with them often. Including physically going to the steel plants.
• Our team really enjoys collaborative brainstorming and everyone is encouraged to contribute to product design decisions. Since we're solving a technical engineering problem for our users, incorporating input from our AI researchers and physicists will often be key to figuring out the right UX and UI based on what is possible mathematically. You should be happy collaborating in this way and be able to traverse abstract mathematical concepts, aesthetics, and UX/UI principles to arrive at the right design. On the other hand, everyone in our team operates with significant self-direction, and you should enjoy that level of autonomy.

Desirable

• You will help to turn an MVP into a product, and enable us to launch our new product out of stealth.
• The product helps users to make predictive decisions in a legacy industry.
• The tool is powered by machine learning models that we have created. The user interacts with the underlying models to predict outcomes and plan the most important decisions in their business. These decisions are worth hundreds of millions of dollars per year, per customer.
• The challenge is to design a UX/UI which is intuitive, beautiful, and powerful. It must enable rapid, seamless, and easy exploration of scenarios and decision making. The platform will create power users of the machine learning models.
• The users are experts, so we want to hold to a very high UX bar, but without compromising on their access to the power and flexibility that the machine learning models should enable.

• Description of (and if possible, links to) experiences related to points 1-3 of the requirements, clearly stating what your contribution was to any of the projects referenced. We are looking for clear descriptions, online portfolios, publicly available apps, and/or Figma files. We prefer demonstrable results and experiences over qualifications, educational background, and/or past employers. We do accept traditional CVs alongside a brief description of how you meet the requirements, if you think this covers the above.
• The application process will consist of a video call with the CEO/Founder to discuss your prior experience and achievements. Then a session in the office to work collaboratively with our engineers on a project, so we can explore what it would be like to work together
