Company mission

To revolutionise and become the market leading, go-to online marketplace for professional services.

Role

Who you are

  • Proven track record as a Product Manager in a fast-paced and successful online business (App experience/Marketplace experience/small business products all pluses)
  • Experience working with Developers, Product Designers and Analysts to deliver outcomes that matter
  • Excellent communicator - you’re able to clearly present your work, explain your thinking and discuss decisions confidently at all levels
  • Expert in using both qual and quant data points to form user understanding, conclusions, and guide decision making
  • Well-versed in lean approaches and agile methodologies to maximise impact and minimise waste
  • A self-starter that is comfortable working autonomously, whilst always remembering collaboration is key to success
  • Strong commercial and technical understanding, allowing you to clearly articulate concepts to commercial and non-technical audiences as well as engineering
  • Driven, ambitious and keen to grow with the company
  • You’ll fit right in if you’re data-driven, obsessed with understanding and solving users’ problems and have a real bias to action
  • We’d love to see someone with a track record of having done this on a native App before, and with experience building products for small businesses

What the job involves

  • We are looking for a gifted Product Manager to join our team and take ownership of our Buyer App across both Android and iOS
  • You will define and deliver a roadmap that helps Buyers get more value on Bark - whether that’s learning more about the job they need doing, finding and connecting with the right Seller, managing their job and beyond
  • You’ll act as Product Owner inside a cross-functional squad alongside Design, Engineering and Analytics to deliver these changes, whilst collaborating with our Marketing and Trading teams to make sure we grow in a smart and sustainable way
  • Obsess over our users, both Buyers and Sellers, and inspire others to do the same. Use qual and quant inputs to understand them better than anyone
  • Set the vision and strategy for our Buyer App, whilst defining and driving success
  • Create, maintain and evangelise your roadmap and backlog
  • Perform all aspects of the Product Owner role as part of our agile Buyer App squad
  • Deliver business impact through diligent discovery, clear scoping, robust prioritisation and meaningful contributions to effective, outcome-centric delivery
  • Collaborate and communicate progress and prioritisation effectively to stakeholders at all levels around the business
  • Take ownership of the impact of your squad - from problem to solution, launch and beyond

Our take

Bark is the UK's largest & fastest growing services marketplace, connecting consumers and businesses with the right professional for their project in thousands of unique categories. A customer can simply post a service requirement (they call this a Bark!) and their technology goes out and finds relevant professionals instantly.

Professionals who are interested in quoting for the work can post their responses to the customer. The customer can then speak to the seller, view their profile and read Bark reviews before choosing the best pro for their job.

Bark now boasts over 8 million users booking pros stretching from gardeners and cleaners to counsellors and accountants across 11 countries. The company's active expansion into new markets has been slow but sure. With this, coupled with the shift in behaviour towards acquiring professional services, Bark seems to be on a path of definite growth for years to come.
