Who you are
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field; HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR) is a plus
- 10+ years of experience in HR, with a strong focus on partnering with GTM teams in high-growth environments
- Experience supporting organizations with a high bar for talent and performance
- Demonstrated ability to work autonomously while navigating fast-paced, sometimes reactive environments with composure and clarity
- Deep understanding of performance management, employee development, and team dynamics within product or technical functions
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a data-informed approach to HR decision-making

What the job involves
- As the Director of HRBP, you will serve as a key strategic partner to our GTM organization—including teams focused on primary intelligence—providing thoughtful HR guidance and helping to shape the culture, performance, and growth of the function
- This role is ideal for someone who is deeply strategic and can work autonomously, yet thrives in a fast-paced, sometimes reactive environment
- We’re especially looking for someone who has operated in high-bar organizations and understands how to support technical teams through scale
- Serve as a strategic thought partner to People leadership and GTM stakeholders, understanding business goals and shaping HR strategies that enable team effectiveness
- Partner with managers to retain top talent and raise the bar for their respective technical teams
- Partner with leaders in shaping a high-impact organizational structure that accelerates business growth and enables clear, scalable career paths for the team
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to drive people programs and data driven strategies that strengthen our culture — encompassing performance management, talent development and feedback, employee engagement and internal communications
- Act as a trusted advisor for sensitive employee matters, offering balanced, business-savvy guidance to support healthy team dynamics and morale
- Build and execute engagement strategies that reflect the mission-oriented and unique nature of the GTM org
- TRM Labs’ People Team operates with a remote-first philosophy, ensuring collaboration and high impact across time zones. We work asynchronously to stay connected and aligned, using tools such as Slack, Notion, and Zoom to communicate and collaborate efficiently. Our culture emphasizes ownership, transparency, and trust, empowering team members to make decisions and move quickly
- Review engagement survey results with managers within 10 days and develop actionable next steps within the following quarter
- Partner with managers to implement PIPs within 3 days of identifying a need for structured support
- Conduct strategic check-ins with managers by the end of each quarter, tracking progress on talent initiatives and team priorities
Our take
The crypto space has become more mainstream but it is also intensely volatile and poorly regulated, with a high degree of anonymity afforded to its users. As such it has become a major source of financial fraud with $20 billion in crypto stolen in 2022 alone. TRM Lab exists to return trust to the blockchain, helping banks, government agencies and crypto companies detect and combat fraud with its blockchain intelligence solutions.
As the risk of blockchain fraud is only increasing, with the proceeds often being used for organized crime, there are a number of companies working in this space. TRM stands out with the breadth of its crypto asset coverage and the strength of its cross-chain analytics. It has partnered with the FBI and Europol to aid its investigations, and is also used by major crypto companies MoonPay and Binance.
The company has grown its revenue by almost 500% year on year since its founding in 2018, and has raised a significant amount of capital. With the funding its secured, its further developing its product and hiring additional talent. And as businesses and government agencies increasingly come to grips with fraud in the crypto space, TRM is well poised to continue its rapid growth.
