Who you are
- We are seeking a bright, motivated, and experienced Product Operations Associate, with excellent attention to detail, to join our Marketing and E-Commerce Department
- 2+ years' relevant experience in ecommerce/marketing/operations roles
- Ability to effectively balance multiple projects and tasks simultaneously and maintain a high level of adaptability, organization and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
- Approaches challenges with thoughtfulness, drive, and appropriate urgency, works well with strict deadlines and thrives in adapting environments
- Keen design eye, with the ability to adhere to luxury brand guidelines
- Ability to work individually and as a team player to execute projects
- Ability to work cross-functionally with remote and in-person teams
- Pro-active and can-do attitude, no task to big or small
- Experience with inventory management software, order management systems, and/or similar ERP systems (NetSuite a plus) and processes
- Experience working with large quantities of SKUs simultaneously
- Excellent written and verbal communication
- Interest in socially and environmentally responsible organizations and products
- BA degree or equivalent, preferred
What the job involves
- As a Product Operations Associate, you will facilitate the ongoing production work across Brand and Ecommerce that goes into capturing our diamonds, gemstones, rings, and fine jewelry for our website and customers
- You will manage the shipping, receiving, and tracking of our jewelry samples to both internal and external marketing partners, such an VIPs and influencers
- You will have the opportunity to collaborate closely within your department, as well as across the organization to ensure our goals related to product imagery, operations, and partnerships are achieved
- Work closely with marketing and operations teams to arrange product pulls from inventory and shipments for both small photoshoots and large campaign productions, in addition to day-to-day needs
- Track photography status and ensure timely sample shipments to photographers
- Placing, tracking, quality-assuring, shipping and receiving all influencer and VIP orders for one-off, ongoing or campaign partnerships
- Work cross-functionally – primarily with Brand, Marketing, Ecommerce and Operations - to improve workflows and drive forward process efficiencies as the team and product volume scales
- Capture product photography and 360 video of loose diamonds, gemstones, and rings while adhering to brand guideline specifications
- Upload image and video content to digital asset management and CRM platforms
- Ensure proper organization, file naming, and archiving of product image catalog, maintaining close attention to details
- Support Brand, Marketing, and Creative teams with special projects as identified
Our take
Brilliant Earth has been working since 2005 to provide luxury, ethically sourced jewellery direct to consumers. The company specializes in diamonds from Canada, Botswana and Russia, and successfully went public in 2021.
Sourcing conflict-free gemstones is an increasing priority in jewelry purchasing, especially for Brilliant Earth’s predominantly Millennial and Gen Z customer base. This may prove interesting terrain to navigate: whilst these generations are more inclined towards eCommerce, high-end jewelry shoppers have proven resistant to shopping online. So Brilliant Earth may need to maintain its brick-and-mortar showrooms.
Scaling up their online presence, however, may help them net a good share of what continues to be a highly fragmented market. Much may depend going forward on how far luxury jewelry customers are willing to make the digital switch in their purchasing habits. With companies like Signet Jewelers reporting substantial boosts in eCommerce sales, there may yet be an appetite for it, and Brilliant Earth's IPO in 2021 has helped it gain wider recognition.
