- Proven ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines, prioritizing efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated ability to create effective, results-driven communications for diverse channels
- Experience working cross-functionally and collaboratively with internal stakeholders and external partners
- Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, or a related field
- 6+ years of B2B writing experience, ideally in SaaS or technology sectors
- Strong portfolio showcasing high-quality, strategic writing across a range of formats and use cases
- Self-motivated, highly organized, and adaptable
- Familiarity with Tekion’s Automotive Enterprise Cloud (or strong ability to ramp up quickly on complex platforms)
What the job involves
- We are seeking a strategic and imaginative Lead Creative Content Writer to guide and elevate our content efforts within the Product Solutions Marketing team
- This role goes beyond writing—you’ll lead the creative development of content that translates complex product capabilities into compelling, human-centered narratives that drive engagement and adoption
- You will set the tone, define standards, mentor others, and shape the future of Tekion’s content voice across channels and audiences
- Brainstorm, strategize, and create content that promotes products and services for partner programs within the Automotive Enterprise Cloud (AEC)
- Write for a variety of short- and long-form channels: knowledge articles, scripts for training content, video, social media, emails, landing pages, white papers, and product collateral
- Adjust tone and style to suit different formats, audiences (B2B and B2C), and partner brands
- Collaborate with external Automotive Enterprise Cloud customers to understand objectives and connect with internal stakeholders including product, marketing, and creative teams to identify key messages and shape persuasive content
- Interpret creative briefs from customers of AEC and brainstorming sessions to deliver compelling, clear messaging
- Collaborate with external partners to ensure all creative is aligned with brand and go-to-market strategies
- Ensure all creative content is well-researched, strategically focused, and adheres to internal and partner brand standards
- Embrace feedback and iterate quickly to improve content quality and performance
- Champion the balance of creativity and business objectives in every deliverable
- Build strong internal partnerships with product and product marketing to maintain consistent tone of voice across GTM content
- Represent content strategy in cross-functional planning sessions, identifying storytelling opportunities that support strategic goals
- Mentor and review content from other team members to uphold quality standards
Our take
Car dealerships suffer from an inefficiency problem. The paperwork and administration required to complete a sale requires dealers to manage a disjointed set of various software applications. Tekion is offering an enticing remedy - a cloud-based automative retail system that integrates the various software applications in a single infrastructure.
Competition has been strong, with rivals CDK Global and Reynolds & Reynolds offering a competitive raft of features, and benefitting from strong prior relationships with dealerships.
Tekion, however, has nevertheless secured customers for the software in 28 states - likely in part due to the efficiency of partnering with a single growing service as opposed to a disparate spread. The company is sparking interest from the right places too, with partners including GMC, Chrysler, and Chevrolet.
If the founders can leverage their experience at Tesla in improving efficiency, the system could prove a highly competitive newcomer with real potential for global spread. A reduction in processing time and paperwork is a hard proposition for dealerships to refuse.
