Role
Who you are
- At least 2 years of professional experience in a similar business environment (app experience is an advantage)
- Bachelor's Degree in a marketing, statistics or business-related field preferred
- Great command of English, German or Russian is considered a plus
- Proven experience in independently managing paid user acquisition campaigns in a B2C digital environment, ideally within the app or health tech space
- Deep knowledge of paid acquisition platforms, including campaign setup, tracking, and optimization
- Strong analytical skills with experience using tools like Google Analytics, Excel/Sheets, and attribution platforms
- Creative mindset with the ability to develop and test ad concepts that resonate with the target audience
- A love for the quick results that come from autonomous work
- Excellent project management skills, with the ability to prioritize and execute in a fast-paced environment
- No time for needless bureaucracy and meetings that could have been emails
What the job involves
- As the Paid User Acquisition Manager, you’ll lead the strategy and execution of our paid marketing initiatives to drive app installs and maximize ROI
- You’ll collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, analyze campaign performance, and leverage your expertise to optimize and scale acquisition efforts across multiple channels
- Develop and Execute Paid Strategies: Design and manage paid acquisition campaigns across platforms like Meta, Google, TikTok, and others to drive high-quality installs and subscriptions
- Analyze and Optimize: Monitor key metrics (CAC, LTV, ROAS) and implement data-driven optimizations to maximize performance and scale
- Creative Collaboration: Create compelling ad creatives - independently and/or with our in-house team & freelancers - crafting A/B test variations to improve engagement and conversion
- Channel Expansion: Identify new acquisition opportunities, test emerging platforms, and refine strategies to diversify and strengthen our paid media efforts
- Budget Management: Plan, allocate, and track the marketing budget effectively to ensure alignment with company goals
- Market Research: Stay on top of trends in the weight loss and health tech industry to inform strategy and creative
Our take
The weight loss industry is huge, and if you’re set on a physical transformation, it can be difficult to know where to start. Arise aims to be the app that helps you on your way to body confidence.
It’s essentially a calorie counting app - input everything you eat, and the app keeps track of it, adds it up, and checks that you’re within your calorie target for the day. There are in-app rewards for keeping up with your food input, and autofill capabilities if you’re noting down a meal you’ve put into the app before. Alongside calories, you can log your weight to see how it changes over time.
But as we said earlier, weight loss is a vast industry and Arise struggles to stand out from competitors like Noom. As well as this, attitudes towards to weight are changing, and calorie counting is seen by some as fuelling a culture of eating disorders. Arise is also the name of a popular service aimed at treating eating disorders - and it’s hard to see how Arise can really breakthrough in a changing and overcrowded market.
