Role
Who you are
- 5+ years of product management experience with developer tools, infrastructure automation, or cloud operations
- Deep understanding of Terraform, Infrastructure-as-Code, and Cloud Operations (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud)
- Experience with incident management, observability tools, and runbook automation
- Strong technical acumen with a focus on workflow design and automation in large-scale infrastructure environments
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams (engineering, design, SRE, incident response, and security) to build operational tools
- Strong research, analytical, and prioritization skills, with a focus on designing high-impact workflows for infrastructure practitioners
- Humility: You listen to understand and collaborate effectively, recognizing the importance of community and teamwork

What the job involves
- We are seeking an experienced Product Manager to design and define a new set of primitives and workflows to codify infrastructure operations beyond provisioning
- This role will focus on day 2 operations, runbooks, automation, and remediation workflows, ensuring that Terraform is not just a provisioning tool but a continuous management platform for cloud infrastructure
- You will define new workflows, build innovative infrastructure management experiences, and shape how Terraform evolves into a comprehensive operations tool
- Product Strategy and Vision:
- Define and execute the strategy for Day 2 Operations
- Develop compelling workflows and automation for operational tasks, infrastructure maintenance, and remediation
- Build first-class workflows for defining, automating, and executing Day 2 Workflows
- Provide a structured and intuitive way to codify operational tasks and event-driven automation, ensuring teams can standardize best practices in infrastructure operations
- Own and manage the roadmap, prioritizing high-impact workflows that improve infrastructure management
- Develop and maintain Product Requirement Documents (PRDs) and collaborate with engineering to bring Day 2 Operations to life
- Collaboration Across Terraform and Ecosystem:
- Partner across Terraform and Policy teams to build a cohesive operational workflow for Terraform-managed infrastructure
- Integrate Day 2 Operations with observability, security, and compliance tools to enable automated remediation workflows
- Go-to-Market Support:
- Collaborate with marketing, sales, and support teams to position Day 2 Operations as the de facto tool for infrastructure operations
- Engage with Terraform practitioners and enterprise customers to iterate and refine workflows based on real-world operational needs
- Defining the product roadmap and strategy for a new category of Terraform workflows
- Collaborating with engineering and design to create seamless Day 2 Operations tooling for infrastructure management
- Conducting customer research to understand how teams manage infrastructure post-provisioning
- Developing automation-first workflows that integrate with Terraform Cloud and other operational platforms
- Managing a product backlog to deliver impactful features
- Collaborating with engineering and design to enhance workflows and create commercial differentiation for enterprise customers
- Enabling go-to-market teams (sales, support, marketing) with product insights, messaging, and competitive differentiation
