Role
Who you are
- Graduated from an engineering school with at least 3 years of experience in a similar position
- You enjoy backend and internal tools development
- You have experience in python, and knowledge of NodeJS/React
- You are curious and know how to step out of your comfort zone
- You like to write simple code, tested and easily maintainable by another developer
- You know how to give and receive constructive feedback to other team members
- You take full responsibility for the team's projects, from the design phase to release and production monitoring

What the job involves
- Your team’s mission is to empower Foodles operational teams (finance, logistics, account management) with great tools that automate repetitive tasks, reduce shadow IT and increase data quality
- Develop new and pre-existing Odoo modules, some of which are open source, focusing on supply management and invoicing
- Connect our various business SAAS together via API
- Help other teams in their own missions (we do not work in silos!)
- Connect our ERP (Odoo) with our CRM (Hubspot)
- Reduce the time it takes to generate all B2B invoices to less than 5 days per month
- Migrate our ERP from version 14 to version 16
- Deploy and customize additional Odoo modules such as car fleet management or the maintenance app
- Our development team crafted a hybrid methodology, combining Kanban and Shape Up
- We run 6-week Kanban cycles followed by a 2-week cool-down for addressing technical roadmap
- This approach was devised by the developers themselves to balance stakeholder needs with code maintenance
- It's a tailored solution that reflects our team's autonomy and understanding of both business and technical requirements
- Write the code, including tests and coverage, for the team's various KANBAN tasks
- Review the code of other members of the tech team
- Share your knowledge and practices with other team members (techtalk, pair programming)
- Participate in the design of our offers and products in support of business teams
- Reflect and propose improvements to our organizations through retrospective

Our take
The French office catering company Foodles launched its first foray into the UK market recently, and it looks set to provide an appealing catering compromise between logistically complex office canteens and sandwiches delivered to the desk. Instead, Foodles furnishes companies with smart fridges, which are restocked daily with cheap meals freshly prepared by local chefs.
The company is targeting SMEs, which brings them a number of strategic benefits. For one, businesses this scale are under pressure to offer perks that are competitive with enterprise employers, but on a smaller budget. Additionally, it allows Foodles to focus on offering quality of food over quantity, and implement practices like distributing reusable packaging and distributing unused food to local organisations. Offering actionable solutions to the issue of food and container waste that’s attracting greater concern in Foodle’s new UK market is likely to play well with customers.
Another feather in Foodle’s cap is its commitment to employing all those who prepare and deliver food on permanent contracts. These kinds of ethical business practices are becoming more than nice-to-haves: companies are under growing pressure from both CSR commitments and an increasingly values-oriented workforce to seek out good business partners. So Foodles could strike a strong note in the UK.
