Who you are

  • This role is ideal for a self motivated individual who thrives in a fast-paced SaaS environment and is eager to contribute to scaling revenue processes
  • Must be qualified chartered accountant with strong understanding of international accounting standards
  • 4+ years of experience in revenue accounting, preferably in a SaaS or technology company
  • Ability to work in a fast paced environment and is an agile thinker
  • Advanced working knowledge of excel and manipulating data
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles, procedures and software
  • Process driven with ability to drive improvements within the finance team
  • Excellent communication skills with proven ability to lead and work cross-functionally in a highly collaborative environment
  • Strong attention to detail, ensuring accurate reporting of revenue and AR balances and implementation of controls as needed to support this
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, meet deadlines, and adapt to a fast-paced, evolving environment

What the job involves

  • As a Senior Revenue Accountant, you will play a critical role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of revenue recognition, billing, and financial reporting processes
  • You will be responsible for supporting and improving revenue operations while collaborating closely with cross-functional teams
  • Oversee month-end reporting of revenue and revenue-related accounts, ensuring revenue and AR are accurate and complete
  • Lead the revenue close process, ensuring compliance with IFRS 15 and other relevant accounting standards
  • Design scalable reconciliations processes to support the company’s growth, ensuring efficiency and accuracy as the business expands
  • Strengthen our internal financial control model. Establish and enhance internal controls around revenue recognition and reporting to mitigate financial risk
  • Provide insights to Leadership on variance analysis findings
  • Collaborate with Leadership on long-term revenue strategy, ensuring financial operations align with business goals
  • Partner with Finance, Sales, Customer Experience (Customer Success) and Legal teams to optimise revenue-related workflows and provide financial insights on deal structures
  • Review and interpret customer contracts and sales agreements to ensure accurate billing and revenue recognition in accordance with accounting guidelines
  • Develop and maintain revenue accounting policies and procedures to support company growth and ensure compliance
  • Develop expertise in the company’s plans, services, and revenue streams to enhance forecasting and financial planning
  • Evaluate & implement new revenue models in line with our go to market strategy. Assess new revenue streams and determine their accounting treatment
  • Lead and support reporting enhancements by defining reporting requirements, testing solutions and partnering with Business Process Improvement & IT teams to launch
  • Proactively identify inefficiencies in revenue processes and implement solutions to streamline workflows and improve accuracy
  • Act as a mentor and support junior revenue team members by providing training, guidance, and oversight on complex transactions
