Role
Who you are
- You have 4+ years of experience as a BI Analyst or in a similar position
- You are proficient in SQL (preferably in a BigQuery environment) and have experience in working with dbt and git
- You are experienced with data analytics tools (we use Sisense) and building user-friendly data sets and insightful visualizations
- You have experience with building scalable, performative, and accurate data models (preferably by using dimensional modeling)
- You pay high attention to detail and possess a solution-oriented mindset
- You have a strong sense of ownership, take initiative in driving projects forward, and ensure effective communication with the stakeholders involved
- Experience with Snowplow, and Google Analytics in a plus
What the job involves
- Be an optimizer: Develop and continuously improve our Business Intelligence data models, code, visualizations, and processes to drive Wunderflats ongoing transformation as a data-driven organization
- Be a storyteller: Derive insights from our business data to empower other teams as well as management with intelligently designed reports, data visualizations, and effective performance metrics
- Be a data wizard: Understand our data structure and improve access to reliable data for the business through the creation of self-serve analytics across the organization
- Be a team player: Act as a trusted advisor throughout the business while driving data literacy and education at Wunderflats
Our take
The rise of technology for remote working, alongside the number of companies offering the set-up as an employment perk, has seen a marked increase in the number of digital nomads spending extended amounts of time working from abroad. As a result, the market for mid- to long-term lets is growing, with demand anticipated to continue rising over the coming years. Proptech company Wunderflats is taking advantage of this trend.
Wunderflats has a broad scope; covering company travel arrangements, lettings for families & students, and a full furnishing and property management service. With operations beginning in Germany, the company found a lucrative testing ground that enabled it to showcase the popularity of its service, which in turn enabled it to secure growth funding. With this, it has brought its offering to 6 German cities, as well as beginning European expansion with Paris.
Germany has one of the largest rental markets in the EU, in addition to being one of the more popular destinations for digital nomads, which definitely contributed to Wunderflats gaining an edge over other hospitality providers. As the company brings its product to other EU markets, it will be interesting to watch how it effectively handles expansion and adaption to the demands of other countries and their consumers.
