Software Engineer, Modern Treasury

• You have architected several layers of infrastructure — storage, networking, orchestration, deployment, data processing, observability and monitoring for high reliability and availability systems on bare-metal or cloud providers
• You have owned production and developer operations for engineering teams and instituted methods to increase productivity and efficiency of tools and systems
• You have built large-scale infrastructure for payments or related systems
• You are excited about supporting internal stakeholders and building tools that accelerate our product iteration and delivery
• Experience building web applications professionally for 5+ years
• Experience working with SQL/Relational databases and other types of data storage systems
• Experience with containerization and cloud-native deployments

• We're looking for a software engineer focusing on core infrastructure to join the Modern Treasury Engineering team
• In this role, you will be building the infrastructure to scale Modern Treasury's products and platform. Our payments product is the core of our platform that helps businesses move and track money, reconciling over $2.5B in volume per month
• Each of our products involve complex data architectures with critical reliability and stability requirements. We are hiring an infrastructure expert who can inform key architectural decisions during development
• During your first week you will:
• Get to know our leadership, culture, and values
• Onboard with the engineering team
• Ship your first commit on day 1
• Take on 1-2 small tickets to address bugs or make minor improvements
• Read our favorite industry primers
• During your first six weeks you will:
• Ship your first major project
• Write your first blog post. We love writing at Modern Treasury (and have been on the front page of Hacker News multiple times with posts like "What Happens When You ACH a Dead Person?" and "How to Build an Insurance Company")
• Shadow a few customer and partner meetings every week
• During your first six months you will:
• Work with our product team to scope and ship products for both our engineering and finance users
• Help grow our team by mentoring new engineers, writing internal tooling and documentation, and interviewing new hires
