Who you are

5+ years experience working on backend systems/teams

What the job involves

Owning the processing pipeline of financial transactions, onboarding Plaid products dependent on financial transactions and insights generation and persistence
Supporting products developed by Credit, Connectivity and Payments
Transactions, Enrich, Signal, Assets, Bank Income and CRA all depend on interfaces we build, the uptime of our services and the quality of data we aggregate
You will be responsible for owning services written in Node, Python and Golang, so if you’re a polyglot (or want to be one), this is the place for you!
You will also build expertise working with data stores and understand how insights generation works (our services host different ML models)
As a member of our team, you’ll collaborate with product stakeholders (PMs, engineers) to determine the highest platform needs, and work to implement them
You’ll work on a range of problems spanning product to platform: making our systems more reliable and cost effective
You’ll have the opportunity to pick up multiple languages and technologies and your work will impact millions of customers by bringing order to the chaotic world of financial data

Our take

Plaid builds infrastructure that allows consumers to interact with their bank account on the web through a number of third-party applications, like Venmo, Robinhood, Coinbase, Acorns and LendingClub.

Plaid has integrated with over 12,000 financial institutions in the US, Canada, the UK and Europe. And about a quarter of people living in North America with bank accounts have linked with Plaid through at least one of the hundreds of apps that leverage Plaid’s application program interfaces (APIs).

The platform allows companies to create financial services applications without having to hire their own team of engineers to build out a tool that connects apps to its users’ bank accounts. This is very valuable in a world where there are increasing number of fintechs, so the demand for Plaid's services are only going to grow.
