What the job involves
- We are looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to help level up our Smart Energy product area by applying servant leadership, a customer first perspective and creativity to the problems we are solving together
- As an Engineering Manager at Tibber, you will support Engineers by being their closest Manager, teams by being an active part in their day-to-day work, and our product peers in planning, scoping and executing on new, smart (and pretty damn cool) tech
- You will be a port of calm for your team - guiding them through the ups and downs of product development, coach and mentor them in their career and provide them with continuous feedback
- Be a partner-in-crime with the product managers and designers in your area and together with them ensure a healthy backlog, priorities and workload
- Build and champion an inclusive, transparent and fun engineering culture
- Work together with other Engineering Managers and Leaders to ensure sleek but useful ways of working, a healthy tech stack and fair and transparent feedback throughout all stages of the employee lifecycle

Our take
The average household today is in a position to purchase electricity from a range of suppliers, but classically will only buy from one. Tibber supplies an AI for households to purchase energy from a number of suppliers, at the best prices at the best time of day, to reduce their electricity costs, alongside helping them to reduce usage in their homes.
Tibber, founded in 2016, was built as a response to outdated utility management tools. Users access the service via an app, with the AI purchasing electricity automatically at the lowest possible price, as well as alerting customers to consume energy during the cheapest hours of the day. The Tibber hub for smart homes is able to connect various energy sources, such as solar panels and EV chargers, to enable more intelligent electricity production as well as consumption.
Tibber has seen huge amounts of investment, showcasing the popularity of and confidence in its product. The company serves hundreds of thousands of households, and has its sights firmly set on continued expansion across Europe.
