Role
Who you are
- Development experience with Docker and/or Kubernetes and containerisation principals in general
- Ease and deep familiarity with Linux development and orchestration
- Experience with creating multiple stage environments (production, staging, testing, etc.)
- Experience with creating and maintaining automated cloud infrastructure and deployment orchestration, preferably with AWS
- Experience productionising modern PHP (7/8+) and Laravel (8/9+) versions
- Experience productionising with databases of varying types; MySQL (or MariaDB) and PostgreSQL experience (redis, etc. optional but nice haves)
- Experience with Git as a source control tool and with GitHub to go along with it
- Good communication at all levels within the organisation, able to highlight risks involved and blockers
- Experience working in an Agile environment
- Shows a strong and willing dedication to learn
- A strong care of attention to detail
- Can take and work on constructive criticism, willing to better themselves and learn at any opportunity
- Ready to face new problems and hurdles head on with a positive and resourceful attitude
What the job involves
- Working in an agile team environment with daily stand-ups based on our product backlog
- Designing and implementing new systems and deployment strategies in coordination with your vertical team, wider engineering teams and QA teams
- Ensuring test driven development is running at the heart of our code base automatically
- Work with QA Lead and Developers to ensure all software is tested appropriately via automated tooling
- Consciously thinking about long term impacts of decisions in terms of backlog and technical debt when planning and conceptualising the engineering implementation of new products and projects
- Ensuring due development process is adhered to along internal documentation guidelines
- Working as a cohesive and effective team with no implications of a standard hierarchy, more as a support network of individual team members
- Work closely with the product development team to ensure delivery inline with business requirements
