Who you are
- Bachelor's Degree (or equivalent job experience)
- 6+ years of demonstrated experience in product management
- Strong understanding of data science and analytics
- Previous experience taking products from 0 to 1
- Demonstrated experience aligning and influencing cross-functional teams and diverse stakeholders
- Data intuition and analytical abilities to diagnose product issues and break down problems
- Strong organizational and project management skills, and a proactive communication style
Desirable
- Experience with launching successful AI/ML based products
- Master’s degree in related field
- Experience operating in a fast-moving, high-stakes environment
What the job involves
- We are seeking an experienced and motivated Product Manager to lead the development and implementation of a suite of personalization products that leverage Swiftly’s rich consumer data
- Develop and execute a strategy for AI/ML infrastructure and personalization
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data science, engineering, and design, to develop and pilot products that ultimately drive relevance for end consumers and enable commercialization success for Swiftly
- Lead the product development process, from ideation to launch, and ensure successful product adoption
- Define and track key performance indicators and use data-driven insights to optimize performance
- Develop a deep understanding of customer needs and behaviors related to personalization and use this knowledge to inform product development
- Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to develop go-to-market strategies
- Stay up-to-date with emerging trends and technologies in the field of analytics, ML/AI
Our take
Online shopping seems to have become the norm, and yet 80% of American grocery shopping is still done in person. This is the market Swiftly seeks to engage with its mobile platform specifically aimed at physical stores.
It markets itself as helping brick-and-mortar stores compete with online business. These stores have the benefits of locality and community, but with swiftly’s app and mobile tools they have data-heavy consumer analytics, targeted product suggestions, delivery options and loyalty schemes on top. There’s a couple of other features as well, but essentially it lets physical stores operate in a digital market while still benefitting from the functionality of the store itself.
It’s a clever idea that seeks to capitalise on the myriad potential of smaller businesses, rather than looking for a handful of big client deals. There are other companies operating in the digital/physical crossover retail space, like Foxtrot, but Swiftly’s one-size-fits-all platform has greater potential for scaleability, turning heads by raising $200 million in funding in just 6 months. Its latest investment is being focussed on expanding into new stores, new countries, and new areas of retail.
