Who you are

Must have a Bachelor degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science or a related field, plus 3 years of experience in software development
Must also have 3 years of experience in each of the following:
Programming Languages Ruby and Java
Javascript or Typescript
Designing, building, and maintaining robust, versioned RESTful or GraphQL APIs that support both internal and external consumers
Working with NoSQL databases including Mongo
Automated testing practices, including unit, integration, and end-to-end testing, to uphold high engineering standards and code quality
Development, testing, deployment, and ongoing maintenance of software products and features

What the job involves

Work with a wide range of systems, processes and technologies to own and solve problems from end-to-end
Craft new products and features that impact millions of people and businesses around the world. Explore creative opportunities for next-gen payments experiences that leverage the depth of Stripe's payment technology
Collaborate with stakeholders across the organization such as product, design, infrastructure, marketing, and operations
Develop and execute against both short- and long-term roadmaps
Make effective tradeoffs that consider business priorities, user experience, and a sustainable technical foundation
Uphold our high engineering standards and bring consistency to the many codebases and processes you will encounter

Our take

Stripe, nowadays a FinTech giant, spent the first few years since its founding building up its payments business, which primarily consisted of providing an API to eCommerce businesses so that they could easily integrate a payment option in their apps or websites, where before there was none.

More recently, Stripe has started to accelerate its growth with a significantly larger range of financial services including cash advances and credit cards. They also plan to build incorporation services, fraud protection, and more, diversifying its revenue away from payments and differentiating itself from its competitors.

To further expand its position, the company is extending its services to countries with vast customer potential, including Brazil, Japan and India. It is also partnering with OpenAI, the company behind ChatGPT - a win-win collaboration that is monetising OpenAI’s flagship products and at the same time enhancing Stripe with GPT-4, as it moves forward with intentions to "build the payments foundation for tomorrow's AI economy."
