Who you are

- Experience working on data integrations in frontend and backend contexts, and familiarity with common concepts (authentication, pagination, retries, JSON parsing)
- Experience with Python (backend), Javascript/React (frontend)
- Familiarity with event-driven data architectures, Kafka, or other realtime data processes
- Excellent stakeholder communication skills, comfort collaborating with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Enthusiasm for multi-disciplinary problem-solving - you enjoy working with evolving technologies and bridging domains of expertise
- Passion for continuous improvement and change - you are thoughtful about how your day-to-day work can solve immediate needs while advancing tech and data maturity
- Existing familiarity with AWS (S3, Athena) or SQL is not essential but a strong nice-to-have

What the job involves
- You’ll make a real difference for our customers and your team from day one. We believe the fastest way to grow is by doing, so we give you the ownership to run with things and see real-time results
- Joining our newly expanded Marketing Technology & Automation team, you will develop integrations and automated data pipelines between marketing platforms, internal business systems and data products - unlocking new capabilities for the CRM Team and wider Marketing department, while modernising or replacing legacy processes
- This is a new role in a team with a broad and transformational remit - you will be key in shaping it
- You will be breaking ground to enable cutting-edge features of marketing tools and embed their use in core operations
- Integration design - build and maintain scalable data pipelines between marketing technology tools, and both internal and external data sources
- Technical governance - monitor and own the health of our engineered solutions. Identify and mitigate risks, issues or control weaknesses, create accessible documentation, and support views of data and system reliability
- Act as a technical expert and pair with product engineering leads - co-working on solutions and steering solution design using your marketing domain expertise
- Work closely with non-technical stakeholders in Marketing to plan and deliver new end-to-end operational processes
- Play a key role in re-engineering and migrating legacy data processes to modern, more efficient solutions
- Steering long-term transformation and change through a new suite of marketing platforms, data products, and operating model for the department
Salary benchmarks
Our take
Funding Circle launched in 2010 and it was the perfect time in the market. After the financial crisis in 2008, financial institutions were hesitant to lend money. Loans to SMEs were at record lows.
This meant that Funding Circle's innovative platform - connecting investors and businesses directly - had immediate product-market fit and growth. Funding Circle remains incredibly focused on small businesses, and this set it apart from other lending platforms. The business has since expanded to the USA.
The company completed its IPO in September 2018 in a challenging economic environment in Europe and the USA. In 2020, however, trading in the group’s core UK market was helped by its participation in the government’s Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme – the company says it has been responsible for a quarter of CBILS loans by volume since it was accredited to join the scheme in April 2020. Funding Circle continues to be a leading SME financing platform, exemplified by its partnership with Bayview Asset Management, with whom it has surpassed £1 billion in funding for its Term Lending product.
