Role
Who you are
- You have 8+ years of product management experience at a SaaS company and have worked closely with sales, marking and go to market strategy
- Strong collaborator - works effectively with partners in marketing, sales, implementation, design, UXR, and engineering
- Excellent written and verbal communication - able to crisply articulate a vision for an Airtable solution that resonates with internal stakeholders like sales and marketing, and inspires customers to implement Airtable solutions
- Efficient operator: must be able to create efficient processes that are highly effective at delivering results
- Strong user empathy - identifying winning solutions requires a strong understanding workflows that prospective customers seek to create and ensuring that the product experience is sufficiently approachable for our target market
- Excellent product & design sense - understands what makes a great product and user experience. Sweats the details and constructively pushes the team to deliver exceptional products that exceed customer expectations
What the job involves
- Deeply understand customer workflows that can be facilitated by apps created on Airtable’s Connected App platform
- Identify blockers and barriers to app creation in Airtable that lead to user abandonment and generate solutions to address them
- Work closely with Design, Engineering, and other cross-functional teams to deliver high-quality product solutions
- Investigate emerging technologies such as AI that can help lower barriers to application creation
- Collaborate with Sales, Marketing, and Support teams to ensure that the product roadmap aligns with company initiatives and customer needs
- Communicate product vision, strategy, and progress to executive leadership and other stakeholders
Our take
Airtable allows users to create and collaborate on spreadsheets and relational databases without having to write lines of SQL code. It's most often used for customer-relationship management, project management, workflow planning and inventory.
In this sense, the concept is similar to the likes of Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel, but the fact that it functions as a database while remaining as easy to use as a spreadsheet is what sets it apart. So too does the fact that it can be used to build apps using Airtable’s own library of User Interface tools.
Whilst startups, including NocoDB, are setting out to challenge Airtable's industry-leading position, since launching in 2012, the business has grown pretty spectacularly, amassing an $11 billion valuation. The company also boasts an impressive (and evergrowing) list of customers using its cloud based platform, including Netflix, Expedia, Medium and Shopify.
