Who you are
- 1-3 years of outstanding sales performance with an ability to drive results and innovate in a fast-paced and dynamic environment
- Experience with multiple sales techniques, including cold calling and email campaigns
- Consistent track record of achieving or exceeding sales targets
- Passion for helping partner agencies
- Strong organizational, negotiation, and value-based selling skills
- A customer-centric mindset with the ability to quickly establish trust and credibility
- Insurance product knowledge and the ability to gather additional knowledge rapidly
- Proficiency with Microsoft and Google products along with experience working with a CRM
- Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time
- Property & casualty insurance producer license, or the ability to get one within the first four weeks of employment
What the job involves
- Receive inbound leads and initiate the agency appointment process by triaging the agency against Openly’s appointment process
- Supplement the pipeline of agency appointments with outbound calls and email campaigns
- Cultivate relationships with the potential agency partners by providing an overview of Openly and understanding how Openly can fit into their business model
- Be able to do discovery and attain key metrics about agency and their business
- Build trust with agents by ensuring a seamless transition through the agency appointment process by adhering to Openly’s standard processes and setting expectations with the agents
- Set up meetings between prospective agencies and the Openly business development managers (BDMs)
- Ensure meetings are held between prospective agents and BDMs
- Manage and maintain strong data integrity and data hygiene in our CRM across leads, opportunities, and accounts
- Leverage data from opportunities in the pipeline to forecast monthly and quarterly results
- Provide weekly updates to the team regarding territory goals and objectives
- Openly is looking for a Business Development Representative (BDR) responsible for generating new relationships with prospective agencies looking to sell Openly’s homeowner product
- This critical role’s focus is to contact and develop relationships with potential agents while at the same time evaluating whether their business model aligns with Openly’s value proposition and seamlessly transition the agency through the Openly appointment process

Openly has responded to a perceived gap in the market: while consumers are increasingly buying home insurance through independent agents, the products those agents can offer have not kept up with what’s possible, resulting in wasted time, wasted money, and outdated risk underwriting.
Openly's homeowner insurance platform sells exclusively through independent agencies. The platform watches and updates more than 19,000 vendor profiles daily across 19 states and 91 different industries, detecting changes to key business information, privacy documentation, terms of service agreements and public records. This increases transparency of the risk between buyers and suppliers, which sets Openly apart from its competitors in the insurtech market.
It has grown in-force premium by more than 500% year over year and has already achieved double-digit new sales market share in the majority of its states. The company is taking huge steps and has even partnered with Mastercard to integrate Mastercard's RiskRecon cyber risk data into its platform so that organizations can better understand their risk profile. It now has plans to expand its home insurance product to more states and agencies and to enhance its technology and insurance product.
