Role
Who you are
- You have 3+ years of experience with microservices, JVM languages, automated testing, and continuous delivery are all highly valued. Scala is the main language we use, so you are either already proficient in it or excited to learn
- You are a motivated team player who is happy to collaborate with your teammates, across the engineering organization or with other groups. We love to pair!
- You have a keen interest in a wide variety of engineering topics like infrastructure and cloud management, data pipelines, analytics (we use BigQuery) or machine learning
- You are able to adapt quickly to changes in business requirements and work in an agile environment
- You take pride in building high-quality technology while remaining practical, focusing on adding value and having impact
- Experience with large-scale and distributed backend systems is a plus
What the job involves
- Take ownership of building and maintaining systems to prevent and detect fraudulent activity. These systems can be built inhouse or integrated from 3rd-party vendors
- Write high-quality and maintainable code. Test, collaboratively review, and ship it
- Collaborate with other teams and help them leverage anti-abuse services for their own features
- Contribute to building a strong collaborative team with high-quality output and create an open and inclusive culture
- Identify and proactively address challenges on the backend, driving technical decisions within your peer group
