Company mission

Bolt believes in a future with less car ownership and flexible urban mobility. By bringing reliable on-demand transport to the masses, they’re helping cities evolve towards decreased traffic congestion and pollution

Role

Who you are

  • You have 3+ years of relevant marketing experience, preferably with app-based platforms or from well-known consumer brands
  • You have a proven ability to prepare and work with budgets, and develop and execute marketing strategies
  • You have demonstrated ability to create digital marketing campaigns with strong impact and performance
  • You are fluent in Dutch and English, both written and spoken
  • You are experienced working across several marketing disciplines simultaneously, prioritizing your work efficiently, and clearly communicating expectations towards internal stakeholders and peers
  • You know your way around marketing analytics and digital measurement metrics, and can make and present data-based suggestions for sign-off. You are experienced with metrics such as CAC, CPM, CPA, CTR, LTV, Reach, and Impressions, and have preferably been working with paybacks, incrementality, profit rates, as well as acquisition, conversion, and retention rates
  • Experience is great, but what we really look for is drive, intelligence, and integrity. So even if you don’t tick every box, please consider applying if you feel you’re the kind of person described above!

What the job involves

  • As a Marketing Manager, you will be the main person responsible for executing marketing initiatives across our rides and micromobility business verticals
  • You will need to be hands-on in planning and able to work with marketing initiatives independently, while simultaneously being capable of taking a holistic approach to your local markets to establish a clear strategy, manage budgets, and collaborate well with other centralized marketing teams
  • You’ll be part of the Northern Europe Team for Local Marketing, collaborating closely with Marketing Managers from related markets
  • The role reports to the Regional Marketing Manager
  • Oversee and execute all local marketing initiatives across the Benelux to drive growth, by being an expert in local audience preferences, maintaining authentic brand communication, and ensuring the brand’s edgy appeal to establish Bolt as the preferred transportation provider
  • Define and execute marketing plans across all verticals, expertly navigating through the marketing mix and marketing funnel, and understanding what keeps the needle moving for an app-based consumer platform such as Bolt
  • Translate high-level business goals into tangible and actionable local campaigns with strong ROIs toward user acquisition, conversion, and retention
  • Collaborate across departments and with the central marketing teams, such as performance, design, brand, lifecycle, SoMe, influencers, and growth to support executing global campaigns, as well as ensuring alignment and brand compliance
  • Oversee our local social media channels, launch communications such as push notifications, in-app messages, emails, and blog posts, and essentially stay on top of all external marketing-related communication going out locally
  • Provide stakeholders and peers with well-structured reports, as well as make conclusions and recommendations based on key marketing metrics and a large number of data points

Our take

Bolt is another company in the competitive ride-sharing market that's trying to take market share away from Uber in London and Europe more broadly. They operate in 100 cities and have over 25 million customers

Their strategy is to focus on markets where Uber used to have a monopoly and then they come in with a better offering for drivers

Bolt has the ability to grow aggressively for now as they're well financed. They face a similar to challenge to Uber in that no company in this space has established a profitable business model that isn't propped up by investors with deep pockets. Creating a sustainable model that's better for drivers than Uber is the way Bolt can win
