What the job involves
- Execute various outbound outreach campaigns
- Support and find new opportunities, working with our PAMs or VP Partnerships plans to deliver an outstanding experience to our clients
- Research prospective Partners using available resources
- Provide early onboarding support and responding to partner inquiries
- Promote partner offers and campaigns
- Support sales and account mapping with partners and their leads
- Prospect within potential partners resources through personal introductions from our investors/advisors/execs, cold calls, emails, and social media
- Identify the needs of potential partners, and circulate them internally to develop an overall vision for partner program requirements, both in product and serviceability
- Accurately update, maintain, and create leads, contacts and pipeline using the company CRM system

data.world is an enterprise data catalog used by companies to inventory and organise the data within their systems. The aim is to provide employees with wide access to data, helping to encourage data-driven decision making processes. data.world calls its platform a collaborative data community – a place where employees can upload, exchange and catalog data sets, then discuss their findings with other employees. It aims to become the GitHub for data, a data community with the power to democratise access to code.
CEO Brett Hurt formerly founded Bazaarvoice, and brings a wealth of experience in the data space. Despite rivalry from firms such as Google and IBM and startups such as Stemma, the business has carved out a strong enterprise customer base, which includes Choreograph and The Associated Press. It however faces some pushback from a segment of the market that does not believe that data catalogues are the solution to managing data due to issues with documentation and data quality problems for instance.
Most recently data.world has closed a Series C funding round led by Goldman Sachs. It is using this funding to scale its workforce, further develop its product offering and expand its market presence globally. Going forward, it is well-positioned to capture a large share of the growing data catalogue market.
