Role
Who you are
- 3+ years experience in a middle to senior role in Data Science, Statistics or Data Analytics role where you had responsibility for delivering end to end data science solutions
- Demonstrable experience of data science, statistical methods, forecasting and modelling techniques
- Experience of delivering answers and solutions to complex questions and situations
- Experience of Data Science/Machine Learning tool(s) e.g. Amazon SageMaker, Azure Synapse Analytics, Google BigQuery or similar
- Demonstrable experience of programming languages associated with Data Science e.g Python, R or similar
- Experience writing highly efficient SQL code to extract data
- Experience of using a BI/Analytics tools such as Sisense, Tableau, Power BI or similar
- Excellent communication skills and stakeholder engagement, including requirements gathering and translating complexity in a simple way
- Machine learning experience is preferred
- Demonstrable understanding of Information Governance and GDPR
- 2:1 class or higher in numerical degree (Data Science, Maths, Engineering, Science, Computer Science, Health Economics, Finance or related subjects)
What the job involves
- Delivering Data Science capabilities to support evidence based decision making and a data centric culture
- Proposing data science solutions and strategies to tackle business challenges
- Use Data Science to deliver actionable health and operational insights
- Support the decision making process to select appropriate data science/analytics tools
- Implement structure, documentation and process in everything that you do, to catalyse the development of our analytics community
- Being the subject matter expert on the selected Data Science tools; mentor colleagues in the Business Insights team to use them
- Working closely with colleagues including the Head of Business Insights, Data Engineers, BI Analysts/Developers, Developers, Product Specialists and Machine Learning Engineers
- Collaborating across departments and internal stakeholders to understand business requirements, developing BI solutions and interpreting and communicating the outputs
Application process
- As part of our pre-employment checks, all employees of Healios will be asked to have a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check. Dependent on your role within the business, this will either be an Enhanced or Basic. A Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) check will be required. You will also be asked to provide two professional references as a minimum

It aims to innovate in the healthcare industry by providing patients with a service that blends specialised technology with the expertise of clinicians, aiming to help patients not only gain a better understanding of their health condition and improve it but also to feel supported along the way.
The way that care is delivered to patients is outdated and inefficient. The company's purpose is to provide better care, faster and cheaper. It achieves this as its platform digitises the clinical pathway, enabling children, adults, and their family members to use clinical services at home. This also allows the company to create detailed reports about a patient's condition and KPIs for measuring condition improvements.
Launched in 2013, Healios has now worked with 65% of NHS Mental Health Trusts, with 70,000 specialized clinical sessions delivered, which is a high success rate for a startup considering how hard it is to get NHS approval.
Unlike some startups in the area of mental health, Healios is not a marketplace of advisers but is an end-to-end provider of these services, which means it already has a leg-up on its competitors in the market.
