Role
Who you are
- 2+ years of experience as either a product manager, program manager, business analyst or equivalent experience with demonstrated ability to work with data products and deliver alongside technical teams
- Technical acumen that enables you to collaborate with data engineers and data analysts to drive technical discussions about design of data visualizations, data models, ETLs, deployment of data infrastructure
- Basic understanding of Data Analytics, Product analytics concepts, and data tools such as SQL, Python, Spark, Google Analytics, Sigma, Looker, etc
- A passion for new and emerging technologies
- Excited about digging in and solving problems, offering creative and feasible solutions
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
- An amazing attention to detail and organizational skills
- The ability to gracefully handle multiple ongoing projects
- Experience working with agile teams and using ticketing systems (we use ClickUp)

- Comprehensive understanding of the competitive landscape of the e-commerce industry
- Deep familiarity with the e-commerce tech stack

What the job involves
- Manage the development and delivery of EcoCarts Data and Analytics Products
- Work with a cross-functional team to build highly-scalable data ingestion applications, data pipelines and reusable data models that deliver trustworthy reporting and business intelligence to stakeholders
- Be the domain expert for all things EcoCart Data and act as the go-to person for all stakeholders
- Collaborate with engineers, analysts, data scientists, and other product managers to scope new or refine existing product features and data capabilities that increase business value, adoption, and user engagement
- Interface with Sales, Revenue Operations, and Customer Success teams to collect internal user feedback and manage the intake process for new requests
- Own the data support process and triage issues / answer questions to enable our internal users to understand and use our data products
- Maintain a strong POV on what is the best experience for the end user of your product
- Collaborate with Product and Engineering leadership to manage the Product Backlog in a way that balances the needs of the business with the management of technical debt
- Stay up to date on industry trends and emerging technologies/frameworks within the space
- Manage the work for your pod to achieve product goals
Our take
The voluntary market for offsets - purchases intended to compensate for the emission of carbon dioxide - is expected to explode this decade to tens of billions in value as institutions commit to net-zero targets and as climate conscious consumers grow in wealth.
EcoCart is providing those consumers with the opportunity to obtain carbon offsets at the point of purchase. The startup works with thousands of online vendors through direct partnerships or affiliate programs to allow consumers to offset their baskets with single click. Vendors pay for the customer acquisition, which EcoCart then uses for the offsets and revenue.
The startup is one of a few companies in the space, but unlike most, EcoCart has fully developed a business-to-business integration that allows vendors to offset purchases directly in the checkout flow. It is this part of the business it is now focused on growing.
Perhaps the largest challenge for EcoCart, also a Shopify app, will come from platform-risk. In 2022, Shopify announced that all its stores could use ‘Planet’ to offer one-click carbon neutral shipping to their users. If the ecommerce giant continues to launch similar products to this, EcoCart will have to expand its features to avoid its appeal being diluted.
