Who you are

We are looking for experienced Data Scientists so you’ll need all the typical skills you’d expect (SQL, Python, predictive modelling, answering problems that others struggle with etc) but more interestingly we’d love to hear from anyone that can help us answer the following…
What makes someone swipe right?
What progresses a chat into a date?
What features should we build?
How to ensure all our users are safe and happy on Bumble?
How to improve relevancy and make matches more meaningful?

What the job involves

You’ll be doing all the typical day-to-day tasks such as manipulating complex datasets, optimising the way we allocate multi-million 💰💰💰marketing budgets across more than 100 markets, helping us create products that solve the creation of meaningful, equitable and healthy relationships 💛and helping keep all members happy and safe
You’ll be involved with all of our apps (Bumble, Badoo, Fruitz, BumbleBizz and BumbleBFF), with access to the most diverse, varied, clean and complex data set in the technology world right now (10’s of billions of data points per day!!)
You’ll collaborate closely with several teams including Data Scientists, Machine Learning Engineers and Scientists, Data Engineers, Product Managers, Analysts, People Recommendations etc and all levels of seniority, so will have exposure to all of the team

Bumble's founder was a co-founder and VP of Marketing at Tinder (she ultimately left among allegations of sexism at the company). This would have given her great insights and experience into the dating market as it began to come online - enabling the company to build for what people want.

Bumble's selling point, as it competes with a pile of other dating apps, is that is empowers women to make the first move by giving them the ability to control the conversation. This has certainly proved popular, and is no doubt one of the reasons behind its success so far.
