Role
Who you are
- 4+ years at an Enterprise SaaS company in a Sales Account Executive capacity, with at least 2+ years experience as a Team Lead
- Experience as a coach-player as this is a full-cycle, hands-on, quota-carrying sales role
- Experience carrying an individual sales quota of $2MM+ ARR, closing deal sizes of $500K+ ARR
- Proven track record of success in sales, including closing high-value deals and meeting or exceeding revenue targets
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with customers and stakeholders
- Deep understanding of the restaurant industry and familiarity with emerging restaurant technologies
- Strategic thinker with the ability to identify market trends, competitive threats, and growth opportunities
- Self-motivated, results-oriented, and able to thrive in a fast-paced, startup environment
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing and motivating account managers and/or sales teams
- Experience with HubSpot (CRM) is a plus
- Willingness to travel as needed (US and Canada)
What the job involves
- As the Sales Lead, you will be responsible for driving revenue growth by leading our sales and accounts team and closing key business deals. You will play a critical role in executing the sales strategy, building strong relationships with restaurant industry leaders, and maximizing revenue opportunities.
- Develop sales pipeline with net new prospects to achieve company revenue goals
- Actively engage in prospecting, qualifying leads, and closing high-value deals
- Identify target markets, customer segments, and key accounts to prioritize sales efforts
- Monitor sales performance, track key metrics, and provide regular reports to the executive team
- Manage a small account management team, providing guidance, coaching, and support to ensure their success
- Set performance targets and provide ongoing feedback and performance evaluations
- Foster a collaborative and high-performance sales culture that promotes individual and team success
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and strategic alliances
- Build and maintain relationships with key decision-makers in the restaurant industry, including executives, owners, and operators
- Attend industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to promote our voice AI solution and generate leads
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective customers
- Understand customer needs, pain points, and business challenges to tailor sales strategies and solutions accordingly
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including product and operations, to ensure customer satisfaction and retention
Our take
Whilst online food ordering continues to thrive, there is still a massive market for people who prefer to order food through a phone call. However, phone lines are generally old-fashioned and problematic due to long hold waits, terribly audio quality, and understaffed hospitality teams.
Kea uses AI to provide an over-the-phone 'virtual cashier' that aims to process food orders and increase customer uptake regardless of staffing quantities. The software uses the AI to conduct a high-quality conversation and recognize keywords such as menu items and customizations, but can also recognize when a human cashier is required to step in.
The startup’s approach to AI assistance is smart as it provides a means to innovate upon phone ordering while preventing the process from entirely relying on automation. By ensuring that the software can recognize when a situation requires a human to intervene, the service acts more as a technological assistant to cashiers as opposed to a replacement.
