Who you are

Proven ability to design and iterate based on product performance metrics such as conversion, activation, or retention
Demonstrated success using quick iteration and user feedback loops to inform design decisions and enhance the usability and performance of key flows
A minimum of 2 years designing user interfaces or experiences for consumer-facing products
Experience in UX or interaction design, putting people at the center of design decisions

What the job involves

As a Product Designer, you will be playing a major role in creating an engaging, empathetic, and elegant product that people love to use, improves their lives, and engages them each step of the way
You have a deep passion for creating health products and will use your full range of product design, interaction design, and design research skills as we create January AI’s products and bring them to market quickly
As an end-to-end experience designer, you’ll be supporting our product team in thinking through research findings, concept ideation, and working collaboratively with cross-functional teams on the development of our product
Design user-centric experiences that are incredibly simple, intuitive, and elegant
Create design patterns, style guides, mockups, wireframes, and prototypes for mobile products
Perform user testing and lead research efforts to inform and validate design decisions
Collaborate effectively with other designers, product managers, and engineers to build and ship delightful products

Our take

Almost one in ten Americans have Type 2 Diabetes, yet the existing management strategies for dietary intake are flawed. Patients are generally told not to eat a uniform set of foods, regardless of the fact that every person’s nutritional requirements are different.

January provides an AI-driven personalized diabetes advisor in the form of a mobile app. The subscription-based service suggests nutrition and activity recommendations based on each user's nutritional profile. Ultimately, January’s aim is to provide a customized tool for people to manage their blood sugar levels.

The startup’s approach to diabetes management is particularly impressive as its focus on personalization has the potential to save lives. Not only does the AI tackle the dangers in the uniformity of existing diabetes health information, but by considering each person and their body, the app could provide essential information to users that they may not receive otherwise.
