Who you are
- Bachelor's degree, preferably in Business, Analytics, Math, Statistics or related field
- 2-4 years experience in a Business Intelligence or Analytics role (Sales Analytics a strong plus) with a strong focus on delivering insights, creating engaging data visualizations and building analytics capabilities to support business needs
- 2-4 years of experience successfully delivering analytic solutions, ideally in a B2B sales environment and/or a global technology environment. (Experience in subscription-based products a plus)
- 2+ years experience working with SQL and other programming languages (R, Python) to analyze, explore, and mine large data sets to support reporting, dashboard building, and ad-hoc analysis
- 2+ years experience planning data or analytics projects
- Consultative nature, with proven track record of using data to answer business questions
- Proven experience building compelling and engaging data visualization and presentation
- Proven experience creating and automating reports and dashboards and working with enterprise data visualization tools (Tableau, Looker, etc)
- Advanced competency in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets, Powerpoint/Google Slides
- Exceptional verbal, written and communication skills
- Excellent planning, organizational, and time-management skills

What the job involves
- The Senior Sales Analyst, BI primary responsibilities include reporting, analyzing and delivering insights into key metrics and data for sales performance, and assisting BI leadership in advising sales leadership to set the strategic agenda for current and future revenue growth
- They should quickly learn SSTK business metrics, back-end process of sales funnel and pipeline management, create, update and organize insights and assist in joint projects with other functions such as Finance, Marketing, etc
- The successful candidate will be an analytical rock-star who can apply a hypothesis-driven approach to solving problems and one that will also be able to analyze large quantities of data, derive insightful recommendations and confidently present to our senior leadership team along with BI leadership
- Last but not least, a “roll up your sleeves” attitude is very important – Shutterstock is a very entrepreneurial company – where you are empowered to balance the high level strategic view with actual deep-dive analysis with a relentless focus on execution
- You will also be responsible for developing internal BI capabilities and democratizing data across the organization as it relates to the wealth of sales data available
- You will report on key business measures, deliver insights, develop compelling data visualizations, data mine, and tell our story in partnership with BI leadership
- Assist in delivering insights and recommendations to help sales leadership and cross-functional stakeholders better understand business health, performance against plans, deep dives into critical business levers and how to optimize and customer behavior
- Directly support our cross-functional stakeholders in Sales, Finance, Marketing, Product, etc. as it relates to their needs in monitoring business health, understanding business drivers and identifying opportunities for business growth, etc. in each of their areas in partnership with BI leaders
- Support the monthly, quarterly and annual planning/budgeting and forecasting cycles with analytics and reporting to set the company up for success and effectively monitor performance
- Responsible for a comprehensive set of dashboards and reporting to the entire sales team, along with other BI analysts, ensuring development of effective metrics for tracking performance, etc. Deliver and automate daily, weekly, and monthly reporting; design and build visually engaging and informative dashboards
- Understand business drivers and identify opportunities for business growth
- Conduct insightful, ad hoc analyses to investigate ongoing or one-time issues that contribute to meaningful revenue growth and margin improvement and share findings with stakeholders; 'telling the story' and identifying drivers and opportunities of business performance
- Partner with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders on key strategic analytics initiatives
- Partner with the Data technology team to evolve the data infrastructure to support ongoing business needs
