Role
Who you are
- 6-8 years of brand marketing experience at consumer-facing brands or agencies
- Strong fluency in social strategy. You’re “chronically online” and extremely passionate about staying on top of evolutions in consumer behavior on new and emerging social channels
- Proven experience managing social media and PR teams (internal or agency-side)
- Strong strategic thinker with the ability to turn insights into compelling, creative brand executions
- Track record of managing complex cross-functional campaigns with clear ROI
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; comfortable working closely with executives and external partners
- A deep comfortability with getting scrappy, moving quickly, rolling up your sleeves, and figuring things out
- Passion for weddings, events, or consumer lifestyle categories a plus
What the job involves
- We’re looking for a strategic, creative, and execution-focused Director of Brand Marketing to lead Zola’s brand presence across PR, social, and key brand campaigns. Reporting directly to the CMO, this person will be responsible for brand strategy, storytelling, and generating buzz across owned and earned channels
- You’ll manage our social team, external PR partners, and lead brand initiatives from consumer insights to campaign execution – partnering closely with peers on Growth, Lifecycle, Marketing Strategy, Creative, Product, and across business teams

- Lead Zola’s brand marketing strategy—elevating how Zola shows up across every consumer touchpoint
- Concept and oversee execution of Zola’s brand marketing campaigns, using a blend of consumer insights, timely cultural insights, Zola data and product initiatives, and a deep understanding of our brand identity
- Manage the social media team, ensuring content is high-quality, timely, and brand-aligned, and always at the forefront of new trends
- Own PR strategy and execution, managing external PR agency and freelance consultant to drive media coverage and cultural relevance
- Partner with internal teams (creative, product, customer service, etc.) to ensure brand consistency across the full customer journey
- Lead consumer insights initiatives—designing and analyzing brand health studies, message testing, and audience research
- Act as a key stakeholder in integrated campaign development, helping shape narratives that support performance and brand goals
- Represent the voice of the customer across the organization, advocating for storytelling, consistency, and brand strength

With the US wedding industry worth roughly $70, there’s plenty of profit to be made in this space, despite competition from giants like Amazon and Target.
