Who you are

High degree of fluency in JavaScript, with knowledge of modern techniques as well as core JS concepts
Deep understanding of React and it’s ecosystem
Solid understanding of TypeScript
Experience integrating with cloud services, and RESTful APIs
Modern frontend build tooling (Webpack/Parcel, ESlint, Cypress, Jest, Babel, NPM/Yarn)
Proficiency in frontend markup and styling
Good knowledge of CSS and it's pre-processors (we use SASS)
Interested in writing high quality, robust code involving approaches such as unit testing, code coverage and static code analysis
Have a product mindset: At Skimlinks we truly believe that feature ideas can come from anywhere
You have some form of mentoring experience (either formal management or informal mentoring)

What the job involves

We are actively seeking an experienced Software Engineer - Front end to join our team in London
Our front end team is responsible for our customer facing interfaces (Publisher Hub), our Chrome extension (Editor Tool) and our high performance javascript deployed on some of the largest Publishers in the world

The lead will be the interface between the team and the higher level technical management (VP / CTO)
Thinking about how can we make things simpler, more intuitive and easier for our customers
Provide high level architectural vision for larger product initiatives (technical design docs)
Own long term strategy of technological growth in our frontend systems. Research and propose potential new technologies that can move the stack forward, communicate them to the higher level technical management
Actively seek the betterment of our frontend systems and toolings (tests, documentation, build processes, coding standards, etc.)
Maintain a backlog of platform improvements that can move our frontend stack and products forward
Provide technical support for our biggest (P1) clients related to our mission critical products and services
Communicates hiring needs for the frontend team
Lead the hiring of new members and seek the betterment of our hiring processes
Interfaces with the Product team, understanding the product requirements, removing potential blockers and communicating estimated timelines gathered from the team
Being transparent with the team (up and down) about challenges, failures, and successes
Working on features that our customers love with our design and product teams
Focusing on creating elegant, easy to maintain, well tested code
Participate in the early phases of product planning. (highlight potential blockers on the front end side, provide high level estimations and timelines)
Identify refactoring needs and lead the efforts to address them
Actively participate in the development of our most mission critical products and services
Participate (along with Senior Frontend Engineers) in technical mentoring of the more junior members of the team
Working alongside highly capable engineers who really enjoy working together and including and supporting new team members in their teams
